As for Masonry saving the world again, I'm afraid that is unlikely to ever happen, because we simply don't command the political and social power that we once did. We won't be overthrowing any tyrants or unifying any nations any time soon, and our charitable efforts at best will save the individual, not the globe. We simply don't have the might these days to make any widespread positive impact like we used to; believing otherwise would be to delude ourselves.

I love being a Mason. I love our philosophy, which as you said, we've inherited from the ancient mystics, but I have to correct you on one point: Freemasonry does not trace back to the ancient mystics historically -- it's purely an intellectual/spiritual connection.
