  • I love flash mobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man.. I just LOVE it when people DO something so good just because they can.. may it spread like a virus all around the world. Thank you.. I grew up in PE so good to see the JOY in the community .. Do it again ..soon!!!

  • Well done guys. There's a guy on a ladder who should come to more BSO rehearsals so that BSO could also get this good...

As for the choir, I know it's tough, but my only criticism (as a musician and choir master), is intonation. Of course it's tough under the circumstances...

    Good show though.

Interesting arrangements too. Where can I get some?

  • Proud to be South African.

  • hey guys... well done... lets talk about a musical ! this is smashing! really awesome.. fantabulous

  • This is amazing, congratulations!

  • 好聽!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was good until "Fireworks", but redeems themselves when they broke out with the "Grease" number. I was more in favor of the more traditional music they used in the beginning- that was AMAZING!

  • 4:45 what the susan boyle?!?!

  • AWESOME!!

  • I love feeling homesick for a place I've never been to.

  • Yeah!! I attend this university!! :)

  • Those Africans sure know how to break into song and dance.

  • I'm currently sitting in another country and when I watched this video I got tears in my eyes... I LOVE my country! SA is home and no other country can compare

  • Proud to be South African. We can make this place work.

  • Could it be that the world is growing up spiritually and away from the fear mongers?

  • There's something prophetic about these things - something wonderful just suddenly happening, completely unexpectedly...

  • And this is why i LOVE my choir!!! Preach!!! Mbongeni

  • Acapella singing is big in the US, and around the world. Just returned from a week long convention of Barbershop Harmony in Kansas City. There were 50+ quartets from around the world competing, plus 23 Collegiate quartets and then 30 Chapter Chorus's from all corners of the world. Second place quartet was from New Zealand as was 7th place Chorus. The spontaneous appearance of the Choir singing in South Africa was a clever way to introduce themselves to the shoppers.

  • it's always good to put a smile on people's faces when they least expect it

  • Isn't it beautiful to see so many different people from all different walks of life joining in harmony together. What a present that would have been for Mandela.

  • Props from Maties! Welldone!

  • lady at 3:49 always makes me smile:)

  • GO NMMU!!! :D

  • Did you notice the smiles on most all the faces? The little "get down and boggey girl". This is great. Would love to see it happen here. The singers are absolutely fantastic.

  • 1:16 lol 420

  • SWEETTTT!!! hahaha:D

  • *follow the NMMU Choir and their happenings on their Facebook group @ "Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Choir 2009-2011" :) Thanks for the support!!! :)

  • Born in SA, haven't been back 18 years, instant chills when Shosholoza started. Extremely proud to be South African!!!

  • Love these ... wonderful to hear Shosholoza once again! Aaaah, Jenny, Austin Texas, USA

  • SEND THEM TO OUR SHOPPING MALLS - THEY ARE WONDERFUL. OURS ARE LIKE THE LIVING DEAD MOST OF THE TIME.

  • HOW FABULOUS!! What a great tribute to the new South Africa and Nelson Mandela. Just shows how music and the senses can bring joy to so many, and give hope to the world Love thiws!

  • Love this! WELL DONE! What a fantastic idea. So moving.

  • Well done SA, NMMU and to every singer - wish I was there !

  • Awesome!

  • I cried so much I think I was frightened when they started to sing. I am still crying as I comment. God Bless them they are wonderful. I LOVE IT!!!

  • Awesome! Go SA!

  • Beautiful! So much joy, such talent! Wish I'd been there in person! Shows the wonder of life and music!

  • I'm with you on the tears! Fantastic!

  • Brilliant...to all those sefricans in non-sefrica; THIS is why we love it here!

  • I did cry - at work! So embarassing. But so beautiful :-D

  • WOW, Well done people!! Feel good Friday tonic!!

  • What would this not do for South Africa if this group (Black and White) or similar groups, can do this in every shopping centre from time to time. You need to be very hard not to enjoy this. On ya, as the Ozzies would say.

  • I wish NMMU students would use their talent and creativity to advance social justice as students do around the world. Advertising the university is all very well, but the radical potential of flashmobs could be used to better effect.

  • @JanetMCherry You'd rather have a Cairo-style flash mob? I think this is a great counterfoil albeit brief, to my general feeling of Cry the Beloved Country most days.

  • Rubbish, I've gone back several time to listen, because I actually love these new peeps on the block !!

  • Special,,,,,, it's fabulous............

  • WOW...........absolutelyy fabulous from the UK

  • WOW...........absoluteky fabulous from the UK

  • Thank who ever your god is for MUSIC !!

  • Absolutely Brilliant Boomtown!!! Someone sent me the link from Cape Town who received the link from LONDON...so glad it's going global, will send the link to EVERYONE as this is something really special. xoxoxoxoxoxox

  • Awesome!!!

  • If only this happened all over, that whenever you felt like, you could sing and dance, and hundreds would join in with you.

  • SENSATIONAL!!!

  • i would be surprised if the intonation was perfect everywhere, remember it's an impromptu performance, hardly even 2 practices for moves, parts, everything. It's not suppose to be a wonderful choir performance, it's suppose to be something to excite the crowd, and i think that has been more than achieved.

  • @zetastrydom - and you are a trained singer no doubt. Congratulations on your critiique - you will go far in the destruction of positive events - a true reptiliian.

  • This goes to show what joy and satisfaction comes from being part of a choir. This is definatly one of the most emotional presentations of this kind' I have seen on you tube. I sing in a choir and it reminds me that the joining together of people from ALL walks of life can breach any barrier and bring beautiful harmony to those who sing and those who listen. Top marks for a brilliant performance.

  • God bless South Africa!

  • Lame but cool! nmmu is awesome!

  • It certainly shows that things can be done in a much, much better way ! And it can also certainly show some our more fanatical and severely delusional brothers, that there are other uses for shopping centers - and the people in it - than blowing them up !

  • WOW! I am so proud...don't even have words to express the LOVE.It is just great.

  • Love it, haven't stopped smiling. The Rainbow Nation to music!
