The US Mack should take some tips from the European truck makers. Amazing luxury, class. I currently drive a 2003 Mack. The dashboard has been originally painted. :) Now, the paint coming off all over the place, you can imagine how disgusting it looks.

Ya really have to sleep in this cab to realise how crap it really is, The mattress is a mere 2 inch thick, with large plastic pieces sticking in ya back. Ive had to buy an additional bed mattress to sleep on. Ive driven Scanias for 15 years and this cab sucks, its time to redesign it. From a drivers point of view.

Scania is not what they used to bee. Feels like a child designed the interior, so bad taking care of the space. Miss the Volvo FH I used to drive everything was so much better thought out.

I'm a long time scania fan since first travelling in my dads 142. However I have to say that scania have lost touch with the drivers needs in recent years.

The dash protudes into the cab so far that the bed is left minuscule. The idea of folding out sections of the bed takes us back to the days of a foden 4000 series. Do scania not realise that most of us like to make our beds up with proper bed cloths and leave them in one piece.

These Scania people want to try and live in one for a week. In my opinion they've gone backwards. I'm only 5 ft 6 inch tall an I can't drive with my bed made up. My 4 series topliner is far better than the r580 I've got now

Scania is without a doubt the most beautifull and powerfull truck on the road these days... But that's a matter of taste I think ;)

you will feel the difference its true...if you drive an MAN...thats a real good truck...scania is just a mythos and not even the half as confortable as an MAN...i would never change my 540hp Man TGX XXL against ANY even if it is the620 v8 scania...

@Pokerbrat25 very true, iv never really rated the scanis, the mercs are too cramped, (for me im 6foot6) iveco forget it, man's are a very nice motor but the one thing that lets it down it the running gear (its hopeless) im more of a volvo man myself, they bounce a bit more than the man's, and the beds are much shorter, but the running gear is far superior to any hgv on the road today.

but then my boss has just ordered 2 new man's, oh joy:(

the topline is the only one my topline went in for service and i had a high line as a replacement for 2 weeks not a great truck and i am a big scania fan come on scania we want better

try asking the people who drive them rather than just following what works from the accountants point of view, the quality isnt there any more. dashboard is made from recycled tic-tac boxes

All well and good if your gaffer wants to buy the absolute top of the range model. lesser R series are not good. what's with the stupid pull out bits on the bunk? storage is worse than the old model, the stupid opticruise gearbox ruins the truck and the standard driver's seat gives chronic backache after a couple of hours behind the wheel. they are like BMWs, you need to tick all the option boxes to get an acceptable machine. my money woud go with an XF every time
