  • And then a plane crashed into a building and there went that.

  • anyone else think we need another man like Roosevelt to lead our great nation?

  • The 4 Freedoms demonstrated FDR's ideological common ground with Josef Stalin's communists. They included "freedom from fear and want"; meaning that if you scare me, government should punish you because you've violated my "right". Similarly, if I want something and you don't give it to me, you should be punished. It shows FDR's fundamental misunderstanding of what rights are. Rights are things you're entirely responsible for; for which you answer to no higher authority...

  • ...OTOH, if others hold power over you for something you want; then you don't own the right to it. It's provided to you as a privilege. Something you answer to higher authorities for is a privilege; not a right. If you owned the right to it, it'd be entirely your responsibility--including paying for it. Leftists reduce rights to government-distributed privileges via rhetoric which calls privileges "rights". Don't fall for deceitful Leftist rhetoric geared toward stealing your rights from you!

  • @fiveinslide6 I hope you get a brain for christmas

  • @goatface1000 >>I hope you get a brain for christmas<<

    A Leftist throws a rock...

  • @fiveinslide6 What are you talking about? You are an obvious idiot. FDR had absolutely no common ground with Stalin who was a murderous butcher and a ruthless dictator. FDR on the other hand is simply the greatest president the USA has ever had and along with Churchill helped to defeat nazi Germany. A great man and all Americans should honour his memory as we do in Britain

  • @goatface1000 FDR was allied with that murderous butcher, Stalin--the leader of the international socialists (communists)--in defeating the competing version of socialism of the day; national socialism. WWII was an internecine spat among socialist elitists; the people only their cannon fodder. FDR was a butcher too. He hated American industrialists until he found a use for it he liked; building his war machine. Throughout Europe, cancer survival stats show socialist medicine to be butchery too.

  • @fiveinslide6 Why do all of you people think that that Hitler was a socialist? The socialists and were his principal enemies. In my country we had our own version of Hitler Oswald Mosely and the socialists used to knock seven shades of shit out of them, FDR was a great man and helped us defeat Germany. I suspect that you may have been on the other side,

  • @goatface1000 >>Why do all of you people think that that [sic] Hitler was a socialist?<<

Because he ran the National Socialist German Workers Party of Germany. The only thing different between national socialists (Nazis) and international socialists (commies) is what's believed necessary for socialism to work. The National Socialists think only a perfect race of people can make it work. Commies think any race can weed out its "dead wood" to make it work. They're both socialists.

  • @fiveinslide6 Hitler was helped into power by wealthy industrialists and the establishment. He hated socialism. The word socialist in the full name of the nazi party was merely a left over from when the party was first formed. There was little if any public ownership in nazi Germany. You guys hate socialism so much that you equate any left leanings witrh Hitler. I am a supporter and member of the British Labour party. Does that make me a nazi?

  • @fiveinslide6 In Britain even under a nasty right wing goverment we have decent state healthcare Our cancer survival rates are better than those in the USA taken across all classes and income groups. Why are you all so jealous of Britain?

  • @goatface1000 >>Britain...decent state healthcare<<

Let's see how that assertion holds up to the facts...

    5-year survival rates:

Breast Cancer: UK 69.7% US 84%

    Colon-Rectal Cancer in men:UK 42.3% US 69.3%

    Prostate UK 51.1% US 92.3%

You call that "decent". I call it the Left's greatest improvement on the guillotine for killing the most people in the most politically-palatable way. How many more Americans must die yearly of cancer before we'll be as "decent" as you?

  • @goatface1000 >>How many more Americans must die yearly of cancer before we'll be as "decent" as you Brits?<<

Source: Dr. Michel Coleman et al, "Cancer survival in five continents: a worldwide population-based study". Lancet Oncology July 17th, 2008. Nearly 100 doctors involved; all documented. Your countrymen are being slaughtered at the alter of your Leftist political religion. You should be ashamed of yourself!

  • @fiveinslide6 I will deal with your other points later. I have to go to wok. However I would point out that we do have a socialist govewrnment in Britain and have not had one for many years. Why are you anti British?

  • @goatface1000 >>Why are you anti British?<<

A Leftist constructs a straw man and attacks it to change the subject... Why do you hate British cancer patients? Why do you want them to keep dying in such large numbers at the alter of your socialist religion? 5-year survival rate (%) for Colo-Rectal Cancer in women: UK 44.7, USA 60.3

[Source: Dr. Michel Coleman et al. "Cancer survival in five continents: a worldwide population-based study" (Lancet Oncology July 17th, 2008)]

  • @fiveinslide6 Your figures a crap like your political philosophy. Like all right wingers you lie and deceive.

  • @fiveinslide6 WASP Americans will never be as decent as us British. All worthwhile American culture comes either from Jewish or Black sources the rest of you are a bunch of useless tossers. Your beer is vile you don't play cricket and you are terrible soldiers. I am the GREAT GOAT and I am going to beat you with a frozen salami. Your wurst nightmare

  • @fiveinslide6 I really don't want to involve myself in yet one sided argument...but if you're going to compare survival rates between a country in which everyone has access to a doctor and thus a diagnosis, and country in which only the top (aka more healthy) 84% of its residents have access to a doctor you can't position your argument as if the two sides are equal participants.

  • @rash1041 It's much like when a charter school posts a graduation rate of around 80% and the compares it to a public school rate that might be in the 60% range and tries to use that difference to prove that charter schooling is more effective...they leave out the part about a charter being able to deny enrollment and a public school enrolling everyone in the area. It's easy to have better numbers when you can control the sample. It doesn't mean you're practicing good science.

  • @rash1041 >>charter schools<<

...demonstrate how competition both between schools and students results in scarce educational resources being used efficiently/productively; i.e. not wasted. There's in fact too much education in America, exhibited by the number of "party schools". When you artificially lower the price for something, more is consumed than needed. Charter schools enable good students with good parents to escape the entanglement of brats who don't belong in the same classroom.

  • @rash1041 Wrong. Everyone has access to a doctor in America; even our illegal immigrants. The Coleman study doesn't only count people treated. It counts everyone diagnosed. Everyone is diagnosed eventually, whether at an early or very late stage; through screening or an emergency visit. American Emergency Rooms are flooded with illegal immigrants who don't pay and American doctors bending over backwards to diagnose even their colds and flus. Every cancer victim is included in the survival rates.

  • @rash1041 Socialists routinely go through cancer records and bitch about how people who spend their money on fun stuff like big tvs cars and drinks at bars instead of health insurance or who just don't like working ARE BEING DIAGNOSED at later stages of cancer than those with their priorities straight. Everybody's diagnosed and included in cancer survival stats. There's no pandemic in America of low-income people's bodies being scraped off the floor after dying of undiagnosed cancer.

  • @goatface1000 The book, "My Dear Mr. Stalin: The Complete Correspondence of

Franklin D. Roosevelt and Joseph V. Stalin" (Yale University Press, 2005), shows FDR himself believed he had much more common ground with Stalin than with Churchill, in terms of how they wanted to see the world develop after WWII. FDR developed a personal friendship with the murderous butcher, Stalin. Such a tremendous fool was FDR that he actually preferred Stalin over Churchill. Leftists live in Opposite Land.

  • Like if u had to watch this for a hw assignment

  • What kind of software do you use to create these kind of captions that go along with the video and soundtrack? Thanks for any help!

  • I'm english and born in 1991, but there are few people in history I admire more than FDR. Screw Churchill, I'd rather had had FDR any day.

  • Fuck FDR

  • A great president. RIP FDR

  • obama's still got a chance. I see no alternative that's man enough or compare to FDR/JFK/Reagan style on the Republican side yet.

  • freedom from fear amazing man.

  • Obama still won't be able to do anything because the country's broke and Congress is bought and sold. If anything is to be done we must get rid of congress. We can't have people voting against our best interests. The only way out is to spend it wisely and get everyone to pay their fair share. WPA would put millions back to work...rebuild schools, roads, bridges, sewer lines and the grid!

  • USA Must take back the values of FDR and JFK. PEACE FOR ALL TIME, STOP WAR. VIOLANCE ITS NO THE SOLUTION. BUT USA STILL SICK WITH POWER AND WAR.. NOT FAIR

  • @kilobas how can you say that we need to take back the values of FDR and JFK and to stop war and violence? FDR got us into WWII which was the bloodiest conflict in human history and he expanded the size of the American Government to the point that the only difference between the U.S. and Germany was the language spoken and the extent the Socialist plan was taken. Smash the Collectivist State and we will have peace and liberty together. Death to Tyrants!

  • @LibeRevolution Dear friend, let me tell you. The US went to war because a direct respond to Pear Harbor attack, that action represented a unfair aggression from the Japanese empire. The FDR values were focused in avoid any way to start a war, actually by reducing the military construction system. On the other hand JFK was a unique example of peace by resolving the missile crisis in a diplomatic way, he did approach to South America. Fought for the poor people, was totally against the

  • @LibeRevolution JFK was totally against black ops, the violent attitude of CIA and the Pentagon. Kennedy was a special leader, pioneer of peace and integration reforms to help the poor, Afro Americans and Latinos. Creation of NASA signed the documents that ended the atomic race. So was murdered for his ideals of peace. In the hands of anyone else would have started World War III, when the missile crisis.

    Peace Man

  • @kilobas JFK was an incompetent boob whose weakness on foreign affairs prompted the Soviets to construct the Berlin Wall, he was an over-rated amateur who is only idolized because he was assassinated. As for his being against Black Ops, that's just bullshit. He had the CIA try to kill Castro and he sent advisors to Vietnam (both however are actions i entirely agree with). But besides all that, you didn't respond to my statements about FDR.

  • @LibeRevolution dear friend you did skip in a very smart way the actions of Kennedy in the field of peace by stopping nuclear tests, alliance for the progress, peace corp, civil movement among others. Kennedy create a sense of making politics for good. On the other hand FDR was a pioneer in welfare state, the only one who made a proposal of social security by giving the people the chance for free education, health and stability.

  • @LibeRevolution The creator of the cruel project about Cuba, invasions among other violent activities was IKE with the past US Presidents who were against progress. The invasion of Cuba was already in march, thats why JFK decided not to give air cover. He changed the international view of US by giving the hand to others avoiding the marginal way of not talking to the Soviets just because they are communist. So not mature that point of view.

    God Bless You.

  • @kilobas how do you define "progress?" if by "progress" you mean labor camps, death squads, and totalitarianism then Ike was most definitely against progress. (sorry for such a long delay, I haven't checked my account for like a month)

  • I love this man...true, he was late in getting after Hitler, but when he finally said enough is enough, he transformed this country into a war machine never seen before or since.

  • Conservatives and Libertarians all emphasize the word "freedom" as if they want to change the default definition of the word itself. To Conservatives and Libertarians, freedom is strictly an individual concept that applies only to the individual. To Liberals freedom is strictly a collective concept that applies to everyone. Hense, Conservatives and Libertarians will accuse the 3rd freedom of being socialist

  • Although the US (together with the Allies) won the War (WWII) , it appears to have lost the peace.

  • HOMELESSSTATION and EXPOSE HOMELESSNESS (a blog by and for homeless people in the United States of America stopped by. If you want to know more about poverty in America stop by!

  • @nomadfort Of course no government can give you freedom from want. I agree completely that you need to work to get what you want and need. However, if you listen to the speech, FDR never says that the government will provide. He is saying that a secure world will be "founded upon four essential human freedoms." It is almost a paraphrase of the Declaration of Indepence; that every person has certain unalienable rights.

  • FDR was one of the worst Presidents ever in term of his policies long-term effect on the country.

& a "freedom from want" is not a freedom, it is a demand from others for a forfeiture

  • @DelmarBos : Tell that to those who lived in that time, who was put back to work and out of the food lines and shanty towns. Conservative policy always ends up in economic devastation for the majority and only a success for the few. FDR won 4 elections and probably would have won as long as they let him run had he not passed away. The reason FDR is not getting the credit he deserves today is because there are so few still alive that remember the time and rightwng rhetoric to keep it that way

  • @tmikeb1717 I disagree with you on pretty much every point. Do you really think FDR is under-appreciated, I feel like he is on the top of almost every list of Best Presidents, I feel like for even people who believe he was a good president they would realize he is highly regarded generally.

  • @DelmarBos I appreciate your respectful tone in disagreement. FDR is still generally held in high regard. I would agree with that. However, I've heard numerous jabs and criticisms directed at him today in a manner that would have drawn overwhelming backlash 70 years ago. Today, there's not enough of those people left to stand up for man they voted into office 4 times. There's a reason he won repeatedly and the political arguments of FDR's day are quite similar to many of those of today.

  • a Hero ,...the US we loved

Look at US today..corrupt n rotten

    FDR wud be ashamed

  • No government can give u freedom from want. If u want something u have to work for it yourself. Have some dignity and support urself without resenting anothers success or complaining about what wasnt GIVEN to u. No government has the right to use the product of my labor to support anyone else that is unwilling to support themselves. Liberty means that u are free to live ur own life but you also have the responsibility to support your own life.Im not rich but I refuse to steal from those that are

  • Republicans want to treat humans like cars:buying health insurance like we buy car ins.(across state lines)! There's a difference!Car ins. protects u from liability! Everyone can expect to get sick & there shud b an expectation that a hospital/doctor can see u when u need it regardless of ur income!Repubs want u to think u r -ur life- is a *liability* to whom? to them as if ur taking $ from them so they put a price on ur head-deductible-so then u have to negotiate w/urself:pay or don't see doc!

  • Our FIRST Liberal president in history, and the GREATEST president of his time. Only a few presidents have come along with his great Liberal spirit since. We were hoping to see this in Obama. I still think there us time for it.

  • This speech is of great foresight and its meaning has a strong value, but sadly to many of his successors and predecessors speak with Roosevelts tongue but act with the hands of the opposite way, even in the states itself...

  • This zombie cant throw a speech to save his own useless life.. He has 1 boring voice.. Why is this guy famous again?? Oh yea, his only famous because of Hitler and ww2.. Biggest over rated fake of the 19th century. This wheelchair bum broke so many international laws during ww2 its mindblowing.. Over 60 years of Hollywood Movies has turned this fruitcake into some "hero/legend" for the gullible american population.. Thats why you cant argue with Americans.. They live in a fantacy world. lol

  • @LootsEr Shut the fuck up this man is an inspiration and a hero he was struken with polio but never gave up him brought our nation out of the Great Depression with reforms that still exist today... and until he died he worked to help the efforts in WW2 its because of him that the whole world isnt speaking german.

  • @footballstar864

    now whats wrong with german?

  • so relevant..

  • sgtatesam also brings up a good point. Our founding fathers had a vision of a limited government, and I myself feel like our country has lost sight in the vision. But in all reality the modern world we live in could not function around the same exact ideologies our founding fathers put forth almost 300 years ago and thats because the world has grown to small and all thats in has grown to big. Our governments primary job is to provide for the welfare of the people.

  • And yes. Parts of the New Deal were unconstitutional. Thats very true. However the majority of unconsitutional legislation passed was repealed over the next few decades. He rebuilt our country and he made it what it is today by daring to move forward. I myself tend to be a conservative but F.D.R. was a brilliant man who knew what the people truly needed and that will always be more imporant than bipartisanship.

  • Don't be getting pissed because the dollar isn't backed by gold anymore. In our 21st century global economy that would be unconcievable. Money has always been worth the credit of that government which issued it, even if it was backed by gold. The only way they had that gold was through a powerful economy which produced it.

  • Oh yes. Capitalism is flawd thats for sure. That is undeniable. Hahahaha. The funny thing is. Communism is flawed even more thouroughly. People don't work for people. They work for themselves. Thats how it is. Thats how it will always be and always has been. Communism doesn't work and never will work ever.

  • Cant wait until i accumulate enough money - cant now, taxed to the hilt and pay cut (wont see those in the federal work force) - to travel to this bum-fucks grave and pinch off a huge load right on this fucks face...Thanks for threatening the Supreme Court to ram through the unconsitutional New Deal...Thanks for Pearl Harbor...Thanks for prolonging the Great Depression...Thanks for making gold illegal and ruining the gold-dollar relationship...Thanks-Thanks-Thanks

  • Thank You. I enjoyed this video very much. FDR and Eleanor are two of my favorite people ever. If you ever get a chance, visit their home in Hyde Park, NY (a couple of hours north of NYC on the Hudson River). Their home is a National Historic Site and is run by the National Park Service.

"The Only Thing We Have to Fear is Fear Itself" -FDR

  • This should be the mantra of all liberals. May we never forget the dream of FDR and let us work to maintain and establish these rights. May our congressmen implement all the rights found in this great excerpt of one of the Greatest American Presidents.

  • If not for WW2, FDR would be rated as a very mediocre President at best. The New deal - as evidenced by Morgenthau's senate testimony in 1939 - was a gross failure.

  • @sgatesam

OK..pal you win. and 'bullshitters and pussy liars get blocked!

I SUPPOSE THIS DICKWAD, AFTER HOOVER N REPUG CONGRESS DID EXACTLY WHAT 'BUSHES DID...as well as Raygun'...AND GAVE IT TO THE RICH'...while they fucked the middle class, 'Is some one who gives a 'flying fuck about 'Balancing Economy.

    'Failure'? READ HISTORY ASSWIPE.

'At least once b4 you and your Texas cronies try to change it. heh heh

'NO repug has balanced economy', in 50 years'!

Hoover is bottom 8 with 'Dubbers'.

  • The first two are clear cut. The fourth is tough. The third is nonsense.

"Freedom from want--EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD" is exactly the kind of thinking that got the United States into our current position.

Despite our arrogance echoing through generations, (yes, starting long before FDR) we STILL have yet to understand that the other 95% of the world isn't subject to the whims of the dying American Empire.

  • @SuperSexyShine freedom from want - means that the people aren't in unrest and taken advantage of by dictators and allows for local growth in each economy . Poverty on our planet comes from people who want more and the taking of precious resources from those who are poor to make others rich. In other words the reason some countries are rich and others poor is because of this grand theft called IMPERIALISM that left so many countries without stability and peace.

  • @DarkMagus1985 If you're so concerned about the disparity between rich and poor, are you offering up your belongings and wages to be divided among those less fortunate? If not, you're nothing but a bullshitter who says pretty things to appear noble.

  • @SuperSexyShine Actually I do donate a lot and work hard to volunteer. So I do give as you say. Don't pass judgment. Nobility comes from one's acts not through one's pretty words. So please learn your history and join the noble cause endorsed by Jesus Christ and shown through his example and work to help the people that Jesus preached to. The poor and the hungry, the naked and meek. Be a good person and help your fellow man. Remember Greed is a vice and a horrid sin.

  • You are a retard, greed creates problems and suffering

  • @Nemto Right back at you, retard: are you saying America isn't a PERFECT example of the greed you're referring to?

  • The USA self-called itself the "country of freedom" because it was during the 18th century. And the 19th. And a good part of the 20th. Everytime something happened challenging it, the USA rose from it, always ahead of other countries.. Roosevelt is the greatest sign of it all. It was all pretty until after world war II when they got fricked out by communism. They lived in fear, and now america is the exact opposite to "a country of freedom" and is one of the least advanced countries. Ironic.

  • "america..is one of the least advanced countries"

    Compared to whom?

    By what standard?

The advance of the Jihadist cause, the event of Eurabia, the establishment of Londonistan - this is the greatest danger to freedom in the world today. Leading the fight to the defend freedom is America. I exclude from that those of its elistes who prefer the profit of political rectitude, and would diminish America to advance themselves. For the rest, Americans will fight, and Americans will be right.

  • compared to other developed countries. It was a long, long time ago that the USA went from being the country of freedom to be the country of fools. When you see from here all the social critics that are around the web you think that the critics are retarded, because "nothing of that happens anymore" until you go to america and see it yourself. Poverty, Bible, 19th century economy... today's USA is equal to yesterday's USA... and that's exactly the problem. No development.

  • "Freaked out by comunjsm". Rightly so - the USSR killed more peasants and workers than all of the European tyrannies combined. That freaked out most decent people. Under Reagan, who with FDR is one of the two great 20th century US Presidents, America led the successful war to defeat USSR global communism. Unfortunately, we have not found the next great President to win the war against the Jihad - but we will. I hope and expect that good Social Democrats,, like George Orwell earlier, will help.

  • There you are mixing things. I'm not a left-winger, nor a right-winger. And if I choose the "no-party" way, is because it's the only way to see things as they are. Look at all the crisis america had- civil war, great depression, WWI... but they NEVER freaked out, they stayed cautious and that's why they preserved their freedom. But they freaked out against communism. And that's why they're slowly turning into the most undeveloped country. They're still so scared that they can't look forward.

  • Let me make this clear: the USSR was an enemy. But they were SO scared of them, that now americans don't even support un.healthcare out of their fear when a look at europe shows it works.

Reagan destroyed the USSR- and that alone compensates his woes, that were many (his economics and social views are the main reason for the USA undevelopment today). IMHO Eisenhower was a better republican president than Reagan, RR is way overrated, just like JFK.

  • @sukneh Reagan was an a foolish dreamer and did not end the cold war. That is a myth. Franklin Roosevelt was a social pioneer and a true believer in Liberalism that allows people to grow in freedom where everyone has a chance to prosper. Reagan was not a man to be admired but an actor that put on a good show. Ironically most conservatives today would find Reagan to Liberal due to many of his positions on taxation.

  • @DarkMagus1985

i'd buy that for a dollar.

watch retards call him socialistic....meanwhile they support ideal that upper crust 2% should own 60% of wealth.

  • FRD was attracted to Progressive thinking during the New Deal. Then he courted the very businessmen he trashed to make America the arsenal of democracy. Socialist? Maybe...Pragmatist? certainly.

  • @sgatesam

And yet, undeniably 'Top 8 Presidents in History'. Some within top 5.

    pragmatism a bad word/thang?

Socialist to 'stop ultra rich', as now, to balance 'not only the wealth', but to keep the 'strain', not on middle class as 'Dubbers did, with no 'raises in middle class sector. ONLY RAISES WERE IN UPPER 5/8%!

Ya gotta throw the folks a bone, dog.

  • Clearly, there's alot we don't agree on, But, you remind me of an important point. Reagan did not see himself as a conservative. His famous point of this "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me". The change in the party is striking between 1968 when Humphrey, the last of the Cold War liberals was the Presidential nonminee, and 1972 when the same party chose a very different candidate, McGovern. OBH's positions are far closer to McGovern than Humprhrey.

  • I cahllenge your view. Freedom cannot exist when one group of people are forced to subsidize another. That is Progressivism and it is opposed to true liberty, which says that government must be limited and not coercive. That was the Founders' vision. Progressivism and the New deal and FDR were opposed to that.

  • @sgatesam

    AS IF SLAVERY ISNT SUBSIDIZING?

    what a fucking moron!

  • It must have felt good to live in a country where leaders spoke like this. I wouldn't know. I'm just from the USA. I wonder what country this man led...

  • Love the irony...

  • I'm not American, it doesn't matter FDR is my number one idol

  • It is a joy listening to FDR speak. He was one of the greatest leaders of the world who ever lived!

  • The Right Wing supports socialism but only if such socialism directs wealth towards the wealthy.

  • That's true. As Chomsky put it: "Socialism for the rich; free markets for everyone else." You and I are expected to compete for the scraps from our masters' table, while they scratch one another's backs and get along famously for the most part; but when they get themselves into a jam, they tell us that if we don't give them back their scraps, they'll starve to death and there'll be no future scraps for us to compete over.

  • And of course our masters tell us it would be wrong for you and I to agree to work together for more scraps instead of wasting our energies competing; while they themselves have always been unionized, from time immemorial, in that ancient union of elites called "the State."

  • thanks for argument to use against those that are against unions. True, the elites seem to be united in some form of unofficial "union" or conspiracy against the average guy, to take all that we have left.

  • @vktrsx here here! the sad thing though, is people, unless motivated, will be apathetic, and the only ones with motivation to control the State, are the assholes who like power, who like the perks, the nepotism, the riches that come from owning the rules. men like FDR only arise in unique periods, when the nation focuses in their millions, on politics, they are unstoppable.

  • @wilburhog

What if we dont support wealth towards the wealthy but complete freedom for everyone and wealthy people arise as a result of their own efforts, whats wrong with that?

  • @wilburhog The Left Wing supports socialism. FAIL, haha

  • I saw these Four Freedoms featured in an art show at the Miami airport. As I pondered them from a New Thought perspective, I realized that AS we responsibly use our Freedom of Speech [thought] and our Freedom to Worship the God of our understanding [one that empowers us as beloved of God] -- then we can achieve freedom from Want and Fear individually and influence the world without resorting to 5th Freedom to Fight to protect these freedoms. Question your basic assumptions and choose again!

  • It is a shame that the Americans did not adhere to these Four Freedoms when the Jews were being massacred and when the Americans themselves were bombing the hell out of Vietnam for 14 years during their Vietnam War.

  • notice how he mentions dictators creating a 'new order'. alex jones better take a note, creating government force against oligarchy is the only way to prevent plutocracy, oligopoly and total concentration of private economic power.

  • No other president has been more pivotal in the history of this country than Roosevelt. Whether you like him or not, you have to admit he reshaped the 20th Century. My father's sister hated President Roosevelt, but admitted he was what was necessary at the time.

  • I always laugh when rank-and-file right-wingers call FDR a "socialist." Of course, the right-wing leadership plays along, but covertly winks at each other. They know that the purpose of the New Deal was to save capitalism from itself. But that can't be admitted, because then they'd have to admit that capitalism is flawed. It's deva vu all over again today.

  • It is interesting that I came upon your featured clip while searching for clips of 1930's radical Louisiana governor and U.S. Senator (at the same time) Huey Long. Long was savaged in his day as being a socialist dictator but had garnered a following of millions nationwide, so much so FDR was concerned that Long posed a direct threat to his re-election in 1936. Those who threw bricks at Long where those who were already rich before The Crash.

  • The New Deal concluded with vast increases in state power, especially executive power. It was more beneficial to the elite class of society than the working class, but there were working class gains.

There were many right wingers that hated FDR's policies. In fact, there was a of a conspiracy to overthrow him (Business Plot)

It is puzzling why so many leftists put the New Deal on an alter of progressivism when it largely accelerated the crony American capitalism we have today.

  • @vktrsx The New Deal didn't save us. It was necessary (to keep people from starving) but not sufficient. I suggest you look back at your history.

  • @vktrsx

capitalism flawed? give me a break lol

  • Good Speech!

  • sure would be nice to see more vids from ya.

  • he saved this nation so your parents lived long enough to fuck and give life to you

  • Socialist vision, oh please, this man was the best president the United States has seen.

  • wrong WW fucked our country over worse FDR was a gift of god!

  • I am not sure of what you are trying to say to me.

  • not sayin to you lmao :P sayin to any idiots who say fdr blew
