You need to increase the randomness of the particle. I haven't even seen the tutorial, but know what you used to make it. I just keep getting hit by the same drop of rain on the same part of the screen over and over.

@FoleyQ rain drops are perfectly round due to the effect of gravity on them, they don't have a point on the back end as they full, it's just a misconception :)

Your particles were almost the same size though... try reducing the size by 500%.. :D...

I like first 14sec, after that is kinda 'loopy', same sequence all time with some lighting storms at end... U should make it shorter with some fast intro & outro text, etc your signature, and with some swush (sound fx)!

did u use normality 4 the texturing? if so, u shoulda boosted the refraction and the IOR (index of refraction) to make it look more realistic.

google aetuts, you'll find the tutorial there. Just a warning though, it takes quite a while to render this particular example. (and it needs a few trapcode plugins)

Try Edit<Preferences<Memory and Cache and then check the box that says "PRevent DLL & Space Fragmentation". After then just quene a AE render and tell me if that works!

you can download them through the link, it's only pictures though, and the buildings need some photoshop work on it but nothing major.

Note the little flashes before the big 'exposure' flash. Also improved the rain emitters so it doesn't get too crowded in the end of the clip. And fixed the dept of field :) Watch in HD!
