@pr9nkaholic Highlights of the cx560 vs the cx110: -12.3 Mega Pixels camera vs. 3.1 MP -WIDE Sony Lens G vs Carl Zeiss -MIC plug in, vs none -Dolby 5.1 vs Dolby 2 channels -Image Sensor 1/2.88 vs 1/4 -Lens Filter Diameter 37mm vs 30mm -Optical/Digital zoom 10x/120x vs 25x/300x -3" LCD (921K pixels) vs 2.7" (230K pixels) Is all this worth the extra $500, imo, no...I would rather get two cx110 (one as a backup, or 2nd pov shot), but, ymmv Thanks for your support!!!
@pr9nkaholic sorry for the triple post, for some reason my reply is not taking the formatting, so it seems all jumbled up, on my screen, even though I tried 3 different styles. Maybe it looks better on yours.
@pr9nkaholic If lens quality is what you are aiming for then, imo, the G Lens is better, but is it worth an extra $500, imo, no...there are other cheaper models with the G Lens, for example:
HDR CX130 (1/4" not 1/2.88" which is better), which goes for around $350
imo, this camera has great stereo sound recording quality from any distance (however, the further away you are the fainter the sound gets, laws of physics, I guess).
Yes it has autofocus. Try it, however, if you notice too much re-focusing and you are going to be recording around pretty much similar distance (like in a room), then I would suggest putting it into manual focus, and keeping it at one setting, for example 3m in your case.
Can anyone tell me if this camcorder - or any similar camcorder, regardless of maker - has a separate voice recording feature? Or do I have to record both video and audio, then extract the audio on my computer? And is this possible? Thanks for any help.
@noself512 afaik, this one records both video and audio, but you can shut the lens cover, and that way record audio only, if that is what you are looking for.
Just in standered, youtube screen not full size,I have looked at other video from this camera the seem to be crisp...I am in the market for a new HD and I have it down to the sony Cx110 or the Panasonic tm 55 or the Panasonic Hd sd60...I am looking for one that is crisp and good in lowlight,I am a bowhunter and want to fill my bowhunts not sure what to get...would love some input
@Bullneck70 what made me buy the sony was the low light and close up quality. I played around with a Panasonic, Canon, Samsung and Sanyo in the same price range. I found after an hour or so of fiddling around in the store using close ups of the lines on my palm in low light (I had the lens real close to my palm so it was dark) as a test, the sony to have the best low light close up recording detail for my eyes. Also found later that it has vivid colors in a low light cloudy evening sky.
@Bullneck70 the videos were shot at a bit rate of 5Mb/s, and then edited and rendered at 1 to 2 Mb/s, probably the loss of quality that you notice. This to save upload bandwidth and time. Did you notice quality loss even while playing in the regular youtube window, or only at full screen?
@LiloVLOG from my experience, this cam is not totally automatic, Thank God!...cuz I was also facing the same features...setting manual exposure will stay, tapping spot meter or spot focus will also stay, however, if you set manual exposure and then tap spot meter, then you lose the exposure setting (I guess that spot meter is just the tapping style of setting exposure rather than plus/minus in the exposure menu)...
same with spot focus, focus it will retain the setting
@colonial4ever2 yes...I would also get a 32gb card or more (unless you have a laptop with a large hdd), and several battery packs (NP-FV100 is rated at 515min)...bon voyage!
Hi! I'm so torn over whether to get this Camera CX110 (~$299) or the CX560 ($799).
Other than the internal flash memory (8GB) vs. (64 GB)... is the basic hardware the same, would you say?
Like I'm looking at the Lens Color reproduction, Image Stabilization and Wide Angle in particular.

One question. If I set the exposure with my finger, don't matter what scene I am recording, the exposure won't change, right?
Because I HATE when the cam keeps changing exposure making videos so unnatural.
I read somewhere that cam is totally automatic, can you confirm that?
Amazing video, thanks for posting it!
See ya!

Would you recommend this camera? I'm planning on going to France this Summer so would this be well worth buying and using on my trip?
