"I read somewhere that Ford is putting twin turbos in the 2010 v6's"
-- You read wrong. Only 210hp for the V6 mustang. Still weaker and slower than all V6 family sedans and most mini van's. Also, it labors on with a 5 speed manual or stone age 4 speed auto. .
every time i see this car the more i fall in love with it more than previous generation.
i dint think id like it at first but after seeing the upgrades in horse power and styling is kinda retro but looks bad ass at the same time. Great job ford keep up the great work and continue to impress me and other enthusiests and ford fans.
Base 2010 V6 Camaro 300hp at 22,995, base "GT" stang 315hp will start at $27,xxx,its really a no brainer as far as best bang for your buck.BUT where Ford usually wins is in the AFTERMARKET. The mustang will continue to have the largest aftermarket out and you can do anything to it at cheaper prices!
they said that about this new mustang (2010) but these bastards just added an intake. and we all know were still going to change that piece anyways.i was so anticipated in buying this new body hoping it would be at least 350hp but im not going for it...im pretty sure a cobra svt is in the works
wasp010 the challenger srt8 is a fuking pig and it is not in the same price range as the gt now the gt500 is in the price range of the srt8 only like a 3000k difrence the gt500 like my friend wrote down here it was crusherd by the gt500
...riiiight. You guys are placing WAY too much hope on the Mustang's sole advantage of less weight. It won't save you. This 'new' Mustang is just a 2008 Bullitt Mustang with a slightly different body. That already got crushed by the SRT8 Challenger. Sure you want to take on the lighter Camaro SS?
If you can get into Dodge's style, they rock. They make just about any kind of car you could want.
A Mustang GT has an 11.1 pounds per horsepower ratio.
A Camaro SS has a 9.2 pounds per horsepower ratio.
True, the Mustang weighs less but not enough to make up the power difference. There's over 100 horsepower difference between the two! And the Camaro's advantage is only going to grow when the road gets twisty with better brakes, suspension, and weight distribution.
Ehhh doubt it. The new Mustang STARTS at $21,XXX. Thats $3,000 more than last year. For the same car except the body and interior. So the new Mustang GT will start somewhere around $26K maybe $27K. Lets say you supercharge the Mustang and produce 420 horsepower and you somehow manage to invest no more than $30K (car included). You won't have as much torque as the SS, you mpg took a nice hit, your suspension and brakes still suck, lifespan is shortened, etc.
Yeah the SRT8 is WAY overpriced. Well...I'm sure its worth the money, but for an extra $3K you could have a 430 bhp Corvette that weighs 1/3 less. The Challenger is an uber cool car, but I'd never buy one. There are just too many better options at $40K.
the only problem with spending 3k more for a corvette is that there is a bow tie on the front and any true ford lover knows that's just red zone/no fly zone... i would spend 50k on a mustang at 350 hp give or take before i'd spend 43k on a 430hp vette
Chevy's small block V8's are beyond bullet proof. I don't care for Mustangs, but I know the engines in them are solid and very conservative (they're able to run on regular pump gas for christs sake). Can you name a real reason why you wouldn't buy a Chevy other than they're not for your tastes?
Prius has dependent rear suspension too. There are some proper muscle cars with IRS! And Mustangs suck, even Ford admitted that they don't use IRS so they can save money!
lol.its not so they can save money. Its so we, the consumbers, save money. it also keeps the car original 2 the classic. i dont mind it at all actually. o n btw... ford doesnt suck. otherwise ppl wouldnt buy them now would they...
The new mustang is setting the bar for performance under 30k,the new Camaro no doubt is nice but the vs is going to be closer to the price of the GT stang.
What do they need to do? Set projects like this one aside. They need to build smaller, more efficient vehicles that dont weigh 4000 LBS and get 15 miles to the gallon. They need to stop listening to the public about what they should do. They dont have to, and they shouldnt. WE, as americans, are killing our own kind.
I don't see it as a big improvement. The interior is much better. I was hoping that they would give more power in the engine like around 350hp rather than 315hp.
S*** once I get some money this will be the car to buy if not this the 2011+ -,- Mustangs sound awesome :D even better with magnaflow exaust and kook's LT headers. Will be waiting to see these on the streets :P

exactly i would hope paying that much more than a gt youd be able to do better
eobauto2005 3 years ago
see the Ford guys doesn't need to worry about Hp yes 315HP not like the other copycat ponies since Ford has Shelby,Saleen and Roush.
They make the Breed better faster and more powerful. You should always remember that the idea of the Mustang is to be customized by You!
