  • PLEASE HELP ME! OMG! You know in TV programmes when they show someones name at the bottom of the screen and it has a picture behind it? I am trying to create one of those, have no clue what it's called! I have created a picture in PSPX2 from scratch, and I'm trying to get the background transparent, I have tried so many different tutorials and NONE have worked! Argh... I want to import the image into Corel Video Studio X2, which I can do, but the picture is NOT transparent. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!?

  • Sazzie: To make a transparent image you should save as png format with background errased (you should see grids). jpg doesn't support transparrancy. Even if its transparent doesn' mean the next program can support this channel. I would do it all in the video program using titles its much easier.

  • How do I do a color range selection in PSP X

Photoshop has a minimum filter function is there one in PSP X

Also when using the color range tool in photo shop one can modify the selection expand for instance by 2 pixels and then feather the selection by 2 How do I do this in PSP X

    Thanks

  • I can't get past the first step. Everytime I paste the picture onto the background picture it ends up being huge and covering the entire picture and I can't figure out how to make it smaller. I've tried zooming out, I've tried gettin a bigger picture. But nothing works.

  • @LizRoyal. Click to arrow and then a resize box appears drag corner to resize. As in the 32 second mark. Also make sure you opened both as seperate projects (open-new both files) and you paste the person onto the backgrounds project as a new layer. So the program knows what is primary and make the background the image size.

  • @johnhilb I should add that the click to arrow means you currently would have a hand pointer and you change to arrow pointer by clicking on the arrow shape on the palette.

  • i seem to be having some issues with understanding instructions at 2:32. ive got the selection around what im supposed to be deleting but it just remains a selected area and nothing happens when i hit the delete key on my keyboard. ;(

  • I think your not closing your selection. The lines should dance (blink) after selection is made. Double click after mostly circling object and dotted lines connect to close circle and "dance". You can then use cut copy or delete. Another thought is you are not on the correct layer and even though you see selection it wont let you do anything unless correct layer is on click on eyeball in layers.

  • Really great tutorial! I just got my Paint Shop Pro X2 today, upgrading from X1, only to find out X3 has just been released. LOL. Thanks man

  • @jeffMM Your welcome. I too found out about it late. I periodically see this on amazons deal of the day for 25.00. I wonder if X3 has any improvements.

  • I noticed that when you click center after circling object it doesn't always move selection to the floated image so instead click float (under selections menu) this moves your dancing lines to the edge of your image. Hope this tutorial helps please comment either way
