U know i am 17 and i love to play skyrim etc. But i tried wizardry 8 and think that the new rpgs are jokes compared to this and might and magic!

why is the music different than the original....sounds like a bad porno. Anyway this game is amazing. Best Rpg for pc imo. Oh and a little tip u can take the ncp's u hire anywhere in the game if u run them til they go unconcious then switch zones :)

Two questions if I may:

1.) Is the experience shared amongst all party members so that e.g. of 1200 exp. each of the six members gets 200 exp, so that a smaller party gains levels faster? If so, would one character get all the undivided experience e.g. like in Baldur's Gate 1/2 or the Might and Magic Series?

2.) What is the maximum level in Wizardry 8?

@RottenRroses Yes, Xp is shared so smaller groups can level faster but I've never hit a level cap. Highest I've gone before is 38.

@NesralZ Thanks a lot. I really want to start a game but I'm just overwhelmed by all the classes, attributes and skills, that are new and strange to me.

I read a guide on gamefaqs for an hour but I don't like the idea to follow a guide to the point, I'd rather build my own group, or maybe even try to go solo, if that's even possible, to gain levels faster .

Are there any skills I can't do without? Maybe traps & locks to open chests or a branch of magic?

@RottenRroses you can go without locks and traps if you use knock. No single skill is needed to finish but they are helpful.

Nothing fancy, I just added the music to the games data folder.

In my humble opinnion is a bit hard, but a lot more interesting than other RPGs. It's worth the pain.

Also, you will find a lot of help from other players.

That's why it's called a "let's play" not "let's talk". 95% of the LP's out there I wish I could punch the narrator in the eye because most of them sound about as annoying as humanly possible.

That's actually the difference between an LP and a play-through. Lp's are supposed to have a commentator. When you just watch someone play a game without commentary that is a play-through. So the title of this great play-through should be "Wizardly 8 Play-through part 1-1". Not Let's Play.

Ah Replaced the music files? I might try doing that, though I don't remember music form when I played really, mind describing how you did it?

Also I started a let's play of this but with commentary, it seems weird other wise, but I'll make sure to mention you. (And watch while my vids are compiling.)

Just pick out mp3's that you like and rename them to the files in the music folder and replace them.

Having never played a game from the Wizardry series, can you tell me what setting it takes place in? Sci-fi coupled with medieval elements?

The first 6 games are mostly fantasy with a sci-fi twist at the end of 6. After that, the rest became a mix of fantasy and sci-fi.
