First of all this is very dangerous, as number 1 the local electric utility company should of shut off all the electrical power to the neighborhood way before the water was allowed to get this high, I am supprised that no one got seriously electrocuted, if so the utility could of been slapped with some hefty fines.
In New Holland Pa a tornado went through the town one night. It really tore up the neighborhood and I got a call about an tipped over heat pump. It took awhile to get there and when I did the husband of the house had come outside and flipped it back over. You could see where it had actually landed on it's side in the dirt. The pad was halfway across the yard. I inspected it and I found nothing wrong with it except the QD was torn from the foundation. It was a TRANE XL900 3 ton I believe.
Awesome! Hey I bet that video was made by the same Sheriff posse that made the video I've had on youtube? I posted it as a video response to yours. Check it out. Same thing except it's a Trane Package unit. Made by the same company that made that American Standard condenser you have shown. :) "It's Hard to Stop a Trane... under water!" I've never seen the video that you have here. Keep it up on youtube and you will get a lot of hits.
Whoa! Well, despite the stray/shorted currents in the water, water is not the best conductor and still enough current may flow through the motor to keep it running. Me thinks.
That's a redneck geothermal unit lol. I bet the 230 volts tickled your nuts as you swam by.

The compressor are sealed, shock that the water didn't short the start cap and relay. Look on the bright side it watercooled.

I think somebody went a little overboard on cleaning this condenser. Normally just spraying it down with a hose removes the dirt.

amazing it is still running
