First, mad props. Second, I wondered if it is possible to change the pitch of a sample, say a vocal one, to layer over a beat while retaining the speed of the sample. Also, is the inverse possible? Changing the speed but not the pitch? Do you do it on the MPC or in Audacity prior to programming the samples to the MPC?

whats good ratfarts? lol. you can change the speed and not the pitch with time stretch on the MP but i never do. im not that good at it. but i do edit the sounds in Audacity. i can stretch the time and keep the pitch. it doesnt always sound perfect but you just gotts mess with it for a bit. get back at me with any other questions

in a way yes. i work really fast and the 1000 really lets me do that. but i made some of my favorite and best beats on the 500 so i actually miss it. it lends itself to making you get a bit more creative with it. i love em both and endorse them 100%

Yo man I've been tryin' to do that wah wah effect for the longest on FL Studio. What type of filter did you use for this beat?

i chop my samples in Audacity. i also filter my samps in there before putting em in my MPC. Audacity is free and you can do a lot with it before you even put your samples into FL.
