@pmnc72hz Well considering that a song is written, pieced together, practiced, practiced, and practiced some more, follow by performing, performing, and performing some more, and followed by recording, recording, and then more recording, along with more practicing and performing, and so on, you can imagine that playing the same thing over and over would get boring. So while it isn't identical to the studio bassline, it actually lets Eric feel more original, and not like a musical robot.
