A fantastic video! Nice lotls too. My pair of axolotls just layed eggs and all of the eggs where brown inside, the female is a wildtype axolotl and the male is a leucistic one so my question is are all of the offspring are going to be wildtype? thanks
What a fantastic video. I raised my first pair of axolotls from young juveniles, and they've just bred for me. I now have a bunch of week old larvae growing fast! They eat you out of house and home!
@lavahound89 yes, completely normal, some axolotls have long gill stalks, other have short. Pretty much never moving unless being fed is also completely normal: they're ambush predators and just stay motionless until some food swims in front of their faces - they're far more active at night though and you might see him swimming around then. They're incredibly robust creatures, just watch out for fungus and he should be completely fine.
no, no i don't. they were developing larvae and very small. As they developed and got larger I separated them into different tanks; they were never inappropriately housed. At the very end of this video there is 5 in the shot, but those were the only 5 in a 3 foot tank (They themselves were still only 2 inches max). Thus, there was enough water to effectively manage the ammonia output of each axolotl and enough space for each to move - it just happens that they all gathered together for this shot
wow truely amazing! This video just sealed the deal for me i have now just purchased my very own axolotl, thankyou :)

what are the dimensions? i have 3 juveniles in a tank thats 3.5foot by 2foot by 2 foot and i will keep them there till they are adults.
They like lots of floor space so a deep tank is a waste aswell.

Nice vid but sorry to say you've got too many in the one tank.
