It isn't slow. The CVT only gives you the misconception of being slow.

The loudness is addressed for 09 with better insulation.

Cheapness, that can be said about any car. But for 09 it recieves a totaly new interior.

The 2009 Jeep Patriot is the best in its class.

The Patriot is extreamly spacious for its class, quick (even with CVT), world class interior ('09), and amazing MPG's (28mpg) for a CUV! Best in class!

Its bigger than most things you can buy for less than 15 grand. The non-4 wheel drives transmissions should get decent mileage, and the non-CVT transmission should allow for reasonable acceleration.
