  • What´s your fathers job?....

  • I recently learned how much I love Mapex drums. To me, Mapex seems to be the pinnacle of mass manufactured modern drum design. They just seem to have figured it out, while incorporating everything that works the best. One thing that I’d like to understand is how the Black Panther kits compare to the Saturn & Orion kits.

  • nice

  • i want your set

  • I WANT DAT RIDEEEEE!

  • WOW! Another One Armed Drummer!!!! haha.

  • Mapex Saturn is mostly the only drum kit you'll see in Nashville period. That's what we use in most recording including the top hits. On Broadway this is in every club, not some but, all of them.

  • beautiful kit, matching cymbal too, cool

  • Every drum sounds great

  • Im in love with the kick mapex saturn sound.

  • 0:17 he riped ass

  • i want that ride -___- makes my meridian maple kit look shit

  • Beautiful kit.

  • i want this kit so bad in this finish!! so hot!

  • Out of everything you played, you didn't hit that damn Stewart Copeland Signature Ride Cymbal once...

  • Sounds brilliant

  • I just got excited because I'm ordering these drums and the bass drum has such an amazing tone, and the toms are so rich and full sounding!

  • well tuned !

  • fuckin sexy kit

  • Awesome drumset man! And nice groovy drum skills! Keep going!

  • Do you have two heads on your toms?

  • dude this kit sounds super awesome ! man would i like get a set like that !

  • orgasm

  • Other than the floor toms I love it. Im getting two bass drums the same size as yours. But I think your Floor toms would sound better with more depth. But non the less, great kit bro. love the color. and love the cymbals too

  • That tuning is perfect!!

  • aww man! you got the tuning just right

  • that ride looks pretty good with your kit

  • What batter heads are you using on the toms?

  • Goddamn, your kit sounds REALLY good!

  • Sharp looking and sounding kit! Do you find the bass hard to control?

  • how is it to tune? do the tuning remains for a long time?

  • May I ask how you're tuning your toms? (Like tighter on the bottom, or same pitch) They sound amazing! I know it's a really expensive kit but still, any advice helps!

(So thanks in advance if you do answer)

  • sounds realy good man, looks nice to

  • what did you use to record this video

  • @5575310 i think i already listed the mics in a comment earlier, and the camera is a samsung s800 or something

  • i want ur kit

  • Man,how do you tune it!I have saturn also, but it soesnt sound that good!

  • ohh stewart copeland fan eh??? btw...no im not candian ...im german xD

  • Hey man your kit sounds class, I just got me a saturn. How have you managed to eliminate all the snare buzz when you hit the toms and kick ?? If you could help me out that'd be ace. Cheers mate, yours vids are awsome !

  • @Jackondrums18 Its still there, i think you can't hear it as much because i only mic'ed the snare on the top, so the sound of the snare wires isn't so prominent

  • @Jackondrums18

there are some special snares for snare drum that can eliminate most of the buzz u get when u hit bass drum or toms

  • @Jackondrums18 its not something you need to worry about really unless its really bad in which case you can try:

putting a small piece of paper between the snares folded a couple of times

    losen the snares a bit

change the tuning on the bottom snare head slightly

or just ignore it because when I play with my band I cant hear it

  • how much was that ride?!?!?! o.0

  • @spudsmagicvideos £250 $300

  • @brinleyhall 250 pounds is not equivalent to $300. It's $397.

  • @brinleyhall Hey man, did you have to special order the 12 by 6 tom? it sounds sexy as hell.

  • @axedstoninst Yeah, the whole kit was a special order, they don't sell a set kit like this one x

  • @brinleyhall how much do you think it would cost to order the 12 by 6 tom, a 16 by 14 and a 22 x 20?

  • NICE BONHAM GROOVE!!! i get so frustrated with these wannabes on youtube with there camra phones but this is great, better sound quality than the Official Mapex vid with greg bissonette! keep Rockin Man!

  • awesome quality

  • beautiful. love the way its set up. kit and cymbals sound great.

and good beat for only having one hand!

  • Sounds amazing man. That is one shallow tom, but it sounds so full.

  • euroracks kick ass! haha. But do you think the 24x20 bass would hold up for double bass. I know I get plenty punch with a 24x18 using an Audix (D6?) kick mic

  • @danthman44444, it does, i play double kick, it lacks a bit of rebound, but thats probs because i have it really slack.

  • is that (I know its stock heads) Remo Ambassador over Remo Ambassador

  • omg i love that sound what heads?

  • wow!!!!! love that sound man, kick-ass kid man.

  • That is a sick drum kit i like it the blue bell mapexrocks such as paiste my favite cymbals suck as evans

  • love the Paiste cymbals dude

  • Likey the Blue Finish :D

    Go Mapex!

  • how do you like the kick?

  • yeah dude that sounds really good, not only that it looks really cool too!

  • i recon they should do a version of this kit with die cast hoops. What do u recon? I mean i like it and everything, but i thoght something a bit more focused would be better

  • What type of Mapex's pedal are this?

    The P980A?

  • really cool!!!

    and well tuned!!!

  • Nice kit and sound. No one mentioned the snare. It sounds like brass but not clear in the video. What brand is the snare and can you post a drum dial setting on the tension for both batter and reso? Thanks

  • cheers:) its a pearl brass piccolo. I don't have adrum dial i'm afraid, but i cant tell you its very tight on the top, and medium tight on the bottom. i tend to crank my snares all the way up for the tightest sound i can get.

  • if my set sounded like that i'd play all fucking day

  • Sick toms man!!! Great kit!

  • those drums sound amazing! especially the kick!!

  • ur toms sound great bro .. my toms dont sound like that unless i put some tape on them =[ lol

  • Wow sick, you have the set up i'm trying to get, Paiste Cymbals, Signature series, except i'm most likely going to get the Dark Metal Ride in time. But the saturn kit is so sick!

  • no maches compa xD

    tu pila suena a CIELO

    H E R M O Z O

    yheeeeaaaa men :DD

  • I'm buying new Saturn Arctic White. This one is also beautiful.

  • i listened immigrant song at the beggining lol

    am i wrong?

  • stewart copeland ride?

  • yup

  • hahaha funny as fuck when started playing them with the video camera in ya hand it was sick they sound awsome man

  • dude you have my dream kit right there! Haha Love those cymbals and woah saturns mmm

  • sweet

  • nice drumset.

  • What'd you do to your bass drum? It sounds great!

  • what do you hook ur mics up to?

  • at this point, when i got the kit, i was hooking them up to a terrible 8 track behringer eurorack, with 2 band eq!!!

i was so pleased the sound i got!!

i've got a multichannel desk now, which is so cool!!

  • could you describe how much louder/deeper you 24x20 kick is compared to a 22x18. I want to get me one of those..

  • I just got one, It's a whole world of difference, mostly for recording and live. Its a lot lot deeper and slightly louder.

  • i want the stewart copeland ride

  • Your kit sounds amazing !!

  • i envy your set, haha.

Mine is 6 piece in Laser Canary Yellow

    the blue looks amazing(:

  • yo dude how the heck do you tune your toms? they sounds GODLY!!!

  • higher on the bottom than on the top, then tweek them from there

  • hey how do you tune yours

  • Got a mapex saturn fusion set up including new hardware (non-mapex, but good quality) for about 2000 euro's total, black hardware rootbeer burst, it's a BLAST

Recommending this kit to anyone, very versatile

  • Hey :) Which skins on the toms ?

  • congratulations that finish was a limited edition, man the saturn is on the top.

  • whats up?

What is the price of those drums man?

  • single kick?

  • yeah, got a double pedal now

  • cool. i love the drumset buy the way. and you play exelent :)

  • You lucky son of a bitch! I'm totally in hater mode right now! Congrats!

  • i envy your ride cymbal

  • Yes indeed.... I also have this kit, and I thought mine looked sweet in the galaxy burst black/silver/black...... but the finish on this is unreal.

And the best thing is - its not even a wrap finish...... each shell is custom sprayed and laquered from what i can gather!

    Your Toms are singing!! Sweet!

  • hey brin, how much did you play for this kit?

(color is beyond killer, i wanna get this finish when i get the money)

  • hey man can u tell me how u made ur toms sound so awsome? and what u used as remo heads?

  • they are the stock heads (emporer top, ambasoder bottom), and they came tuned that way, straight from the box, i had to alter them slightly to get rid of the dopller effect, but the are just tuned the higher on botton than the top.

  • Comment removed

  • would you like to give me your drumkit?? :P, nice setup man..

  • try the doppler effect drop the bottom head tuning way down esp on the floor toms. its sounds unreal on my saturn.

  • have done, i prefer them clean tho

  • Hi guys, i have the SAME kit too. Mine sound nothing like this. It sounds so bad i wanna sell it. The heads are also what came with the kit, havent changed them. How do you make it sounds so good? Do you tune the toms with low tension on the top and tighter on the bottom?

  • how long have you had the heads on, if its longer than 4-5 months, change them, and just tune both heads to the same tension and see how that sounds, if you aren't happy, tune the bottom head up, you should then have a pretty good sound

    Cheers

  • About a year but havent played much, i will try the tension again and see...cheers dude

  • Why in Gods name do you have a Saturn if you can't tune???

  • Hey champ, lovin' the sound of your Saturn. What heads are you using for all your drums? I think they are different to what is in your youtube profile description. Thanks in advance =)

  • yeah that description is for my old kit, they are the stock remo emporers tops, ambasadors on bottoms for toms, evans g2 on snare, powerstroke 3 on kick, cheers

  • beautifull..no words

  • pure sex

  • Dude.. What a sound!

  • I love your set-up man, a few months back i ordered a saturn, except it was the green apple burst and it's a 7 piece, and it's supposed to come today :D Can't wait. It sounds and looks beautiful. Also, what make of ride is that??

  • Is that how your toms sound miced?

They sound pretty damn rad! =P

  • how do you tune your bass and toms? whats the relationship between the top and bottom head in this video?

  • bass drum is at minimum resonance tension, with the crinkles just gone, front head quite tight, on the toms the bottom heads are tuned quite high, with the bottom heads quite low, hope this helps

  • ok, but how do you tune your top heads? :P

  • wow, the kit and the ride look incredible

  • Those sound AMAZING!!

  • this is a great sound i thinck i buy me such a kit because it sounds very great

  • How does the 24 in. bass drum feel to you? Is it resilient or kind of hard to get bounce out of it? It seems like it has a good tone in the video, would you recommend it for a band situation? I'm very interested in purchasing a 24 in., and I am eager to hear everything you have to say about it. Thanks in advance :)

  • To be honest it fells exactly the same as my old 22", but the sound is , once controlled, more explosive, and deathly loud, and looks better to play with for me because i'm 6'3" lol, the tone is great, not sure if thats because of the saturn or my tuning, but yeah i love it and would recommend it for gigging with a rock band, not anything lighter than that, i also would not recommend it for metal, as it would be a little slow for double bass, it would become more of a constant noise. cheers now

  • nice finish

and the ride is suitable to the blue drums :D

  • You have a paiste signature blue ride?

  • yeah, what of it?

  • ohhhh my god due they sound so damn good!!! : )

  • i love it :) although im not keen on 24x20 i prefer 22x20 or 20x20 :L

  • your kit is a beast

  • what kinda mics are you using?

  • Bass + Toms, T.bone 1500 set

    Snare: Sm57

    Overhead: Rode NT1a

    Hhats: condeser from t.bone set

  • i wanted to hear the ride you willy

  • This is my dream set

  • the ride goes perfect with the kit

  • Exactly what I was thinking! I really want that ride, 22" Blue Bell designed with Stewart Copeland, but it's costs about $500 USD!!

  • That bass is killer

  • paiste are the best!!!!!

  • That is so cool! Love the idea of a 13x3! The 24x20 is mean as well!

  • It looks a bit deeper than 3" though...

  • wow man, love the sounds of that kit, especially the snare!

  • Tits.

  • hahaha wtf in the beginning? lol i hear someone say sumthing lol

anyways.... loving the set and it sounds beautiful

  • beautiful kit

  • that is not exactly the sound that i want but i really did like the sound anyhow, i really like how you got a really musical tone out of the toms and the crash sounds nice with it, i can't see anyone going wrong with a saturn, i really like the one colored pearl for $2800

  • Freakin nice :D

Cool Stewart Copeland ride. sounds great.

  • Looks like its worth the money.

  • awesome man!, is that just any old saturn kit?, if not could you please tell me were you got it from?x

  • Fuck that kit is beautiful and sounds incredible

  • great sounding kit man!

  • Sweet, those toms are beauties, punchy man! and that bass sounds sick, good purchase
