Less than this its a great concept but it needs to be more affordable but since the pryius is 40,000 the teals wont cone down any time soon. The gt-r is faster and cheaper.
This is a supercar! Of course it costs a lot! Where are you going to get a car that can do 0-60 in 3-7 for less than $100,000? Don't even compare this car to anything not in it's class. I would like to see a comparison of this with other companies electric supercars.
Top Gear's review was a hoax. That is why Tesla sued them.
WOW! that's a small motor. Why can't any other electric car do what Tesla does? The British Lightning GT, the French Venturi Fetich, the electric Mercedes SLS AMG, and the electric Audi all have more horsepower and torque; but, they can't match the performance or the price for that matter.
I love how people still talk about hydrogen like it's the holy jizz of the future, hydrogen is an energy carrier just like a duracell battery. It still needs a source of electricity and the whole process itself is highly inefficient. :D
Just stick to electric power from the grid. :D:D:D:D
Hey iGIZMO how do you get the hydrogen then? You still need to get it from either natural gas or by splitting water which, then requires electricity. Why not use the electricity in a battery, much more simple.
Hydrogen is not the future! hydrogen will turn water into oil, giving oil companies more money, power and control over natural resources. It takes exponentially more electricity to make hydrogen than it would to use the solar power on our roofs, or electricity from the grid to charge our cars. Electrics have more power, torque, more range and is less mechanical. ELECTRIC IS THE FUTURE!
@fipfapfallywap obviously but how do you generate the electricity is the problem if your "charging off the grid" that electricity comes from burning of fossil fuels so its no better than using petrol!
you can charge the batteries off of solar. and even charging the car off of the grid is better than using petrol, as economies and infrastructure is/will also improve to more renewable energies.
For sure, i agree! and that sustainable energy is renewable.
I may be biased, as i work for a solar and wind power company!
I see how easy it is to set up solar on a garage and how easy it is to come home at night and plug your car in. or if on a road trip, plug it into a wall. The only up front cost is the solar array (5-10 grand, Canadian). which is equivalent to the cost of approx 1-3 years of petrol. Only, solar has a 25 yr warranted output!
@danpayne118 The second option is the only one since electric motors already are 90% efficient, little room for improvement there. Wind by kite and solar multielectron are the future of energy, not yet ready but very promising. While we wait, let's go get some silicon or thin film panels.
No man....hydrogen simply turns water into oil.... giving oil companies more control, even over natural resources.
The future is electric my friend. Better performance, more torque, higher speeds and better range. Charge your car from the solar panels you will have on your roof. Dont give the oil companies money.
this think looks like an Eclipse mated with a Miata and Gave birth to this abomination , id rather drive an 85 ford escort .

@throwdownchevyman yeah but the gtr is a pile of crap!

i wonder how much oil companies are paying for this technology to be kept off the road?

Almost 400 km from a single charge? Catching up to normal cars and that's GREAT :].

@fipfapfallywap hmm i spose but we definetely have to either invent a new engine or use more sustainable energy

this has gotta be the best in depth look at the tesla roadster ive seen! and i dont think top gear has even done it! 5 star!

It's more than 15 and a half grand cheaper in the US.
Wha? You can buy a whole other car from just the difference.
Also, hydrogen combustion and eletrochemical fuel cell cars are the way of the future.
