The accent, as you mention, is very Scottish; ya must understand that. This recalls how much I absolutely adored (almost above ALL else), all of Donovan's many songs during his particularly active (re/ pop success) few years. Wonderful, unique, extraordinary artist. I'd go see him in a heartbeat now if I heard of his performing nearby.
