@detanchen Ridiculous. Every single note was right on target. Maybe you just can't see that target. It's called taking liberty with a song to make it your own and she did exactly that better than anyone I've ever heard. Open your mind. No version should sound like any other version or the original for that matter. This was incredible!
charlie lone wolfe very nice and very smooth. do you have more songs posted?. it takes talent and ability to hold those long notes without faltering. YOU DID THE SONG JUSTICE, THANKS.
that was terrible. the song was amazing on its own. your muffling up the wording and trying to make your voice smooth, but its just coming up like your gasping for your breathe.
well done Lamaraj. sent this to my wife. I know she'll love it. one reason we don't have music like this anymore is because the average person's vocabulary has disintegrated. my college students don't read--anything--and have a vocabulary similar to a middle schooler's in the early and mid-20th century. they've likely never even heard or seen a phrase like "embraceable you," much less tried to rhyme it with "irreplaceable you."
To be fair, I think this depends on where you are located and at which college you are teaching. Environment is an issue also, as is general attitude towards learning and towards music and language of the past. Everything changes over time. Even attitudes towards love & romance.
I do believe that there will always be true artists that care not of what's "cool" or "in style"...and have aquired the vocabulary to create such rhymes. But yes, they are a rarity!
Oh, I didn't mean to imply that I know better. Of course, not. I'm just stating my hopeful opinion for what it's worth, but do not totally disagree with you.
I do apologize if you were offended. Have a wonderfully romantic week :)
Because most people are out of touch with what romance used to mean. It's been twisted. The days of dreaming are all but gone, and it's rare when people are willing to write with such vulnerability anymore.
When something is written from the soul, it usually touches the soul. Most inportantly, it must be sung from the soul. I do my best to live the song, and to let the moment be me.
Ahhh, lovely, absolutely lovely! Those romantic pictures were so touching, along with the softness of your beautiful voice...such a gentle, sweet video. What happened to those wonderful old days of romance, the kind we saw so often on the big screen? Anyone want to share their romantic stories? ~ Tess
I don't know about you, but I still live with a real sense of romance. That's why I love the standards SO MUCH! lol Born in the wrong era maybe...then again, maybe not!

Great photos, but the ironic one is the one from The Blue Angel. Marlene makes a sap out of Emil, wrecks his life, and breaks an egg on his head
