When i watched this movie about a week ago, i was immersed into ancient Japan, into an isolated world, ruled by values, principles of honor. Amazing movie. Sanada is always so humble, very genuine actor.

I remember when I went to go see this in the theater after reading the reviews for the film. I left in awe & cried during it, quite possibly one of the greatest samurai films ever in my opinion. Sanada is an incredible actor, I'm surprised he hasn't been snagged for more American films but that's also good cause it spares him from all the nonsense that Hollywood puts out so much of. This theme is awesome love everything about the movie & its my fav out of Yoji Yamada's trilogy

Magnificent movie. Sanadasan and Miyazawasan were superb in this. I cried quite a lot I have to admit. BTW, Sanadasan will be in the last season of 'Lost', I'll watch it just to see him.

"The hidden blade" and "love and honor". "Kabei" is another great movie by Mr Yamada. Eventhough it takes place in wartime Japan, it has the same "feeling" to it as his samurai movies ^^
