  • Anyone got a million to spare? lend/give me?

  • I LOVE the Dollar Store, and I never fail to have fun there.

  • oh my g... lol my last name is Bramwell!!!

  • i live in wv and it is beautiful

  • I'm from the Charleston, WV area but I went to college at Concord University in Athens, WV - not far from Bramwell (still in Mercer County). I loooooooooove going to Bramwell every year for the Oktoberfest. It is so much fun!! I've been going every year since 2005 - it's become a yearly tradition of me and my friends from college. Bramwell is so gorgeous in autumn, and when you combine that with great food, great music, great artists, and great beers it just can't be beat!

  • I do miss Wv and towns like Bramwell, but I had to leave a beautiful state with wonderful people to make money. Its sad that a state with such beauty and hard working people can not make a good living, and it is all because of their state goverment. All of the good paying jobs stop right on the boarder because of the way the state runs itself.

  • my family grew up in Bramwell,, i now only live about 10-15 minutes from Bramwell, they do have some beautiful homes there

  • This is great. My great-grandmother Ocie Adams & great-grandfather Ray Tabor were born in Coopers and raised in Cooper's and Bramwell. My dad was born in Pocahontas, Va. I'm the great-g-g-g granddaughter of Jordon Nelson of Pocahontas Fuel Company. My great-g-g grandfather Henderson Tabor survived one of the worst mine explosions. Unfortuntaly, I never have been to those areas of West Virginia. These videos show me a lot. I treasure being able to see the towns of my heritage. Thank you.

  • We have a beautiful circa 1940's home on a mountain here. 29,900.00 WHAT A DEAL!

  • WHIA I LIVE THERRE weird

  • Haaaa thats so cool, we love it there and enjoy your new diner downtown good food

  • if you guys would have more modern music shows in bramwell maybe you would get some distinction and ppl moving there. look up the stats on wiki, ppl don't move here they move away.

  • excuse you hun wiki lies and west virginia prides itself on its cultural diversity soooo watever and its rich history including its mountain bluegrass music soo if you dont like dont come here we dont want yah anyways but know one thing ur missing out

  • Umm excuse you...WV has NO cultural diversity, so how can it pride itself in that???im from Seattle, I go to WVU, believe me nobody is missing out on anything in WV!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah it does maybe u need 2 go out and explore wv a little bit and maybe u will learn something forreal and if u dont wanna b here leave

  • hahaha

no problem...keep your uneducated , racist, poor state, that has no idea that its 30 years behind the time...BTW its the first of the month ...shouldnt you be at walmart or something?

  • Daniel, (Nice campus btw) WV is the most historically and culturally diverse state in the south. People came from Hungary, England, Germany, Russia,, Asia, South America, and many African Americans as well as Italian, Irish, Welsh, Yugoslavia, it goes on and on.. many of the current residents of WV are from this common coal ancestry that made up the Coal based economy. As little as 10-15 years ago An R- Orthodox Church still worshipped in their native Russian language. & many Jewish Synagogues.

  • And most importantly, we have met folks and personally visited Point Pleasant to Coalwood, War to Oceania. Met the Gov and wife at Blenko Glass Factory. Anyway from Bramwell to Rainelle, White Sulpher Springs to Huntington. Coopers to Bluefield they are the Nicest, Hardest working people in the world.. Oh and we love the Tamarack.

  • umm danielwvu u can argue with a little grl all u want but it doesnt make u sound any smarter so watever but can u answer me this one question why wvu if this state is so jacked up and backwards why did you choose to goto college here huh???

  • Im not arguing...sorry if you think this way...I never said anything to personally attack you are never was i even rude to you...so you might want to re-evaluate what arguing is....considering you replied to me first>>>BTW Morgantown is nothing like charleston, beckley, or bluefeild, and you know that...Up north is completly different then down south!!!

Also, this is my last semester...so you can have your state, but you will never know true happiness until you leave WV!! FACT

  • daniel please take your ass back to seattle and never return. never know true happiness? you are a fucking jackass, i've known true happiness my whole life life in these beautiful mountains, no cultural diversity? moron, so the Germans, Irish, Scots, and Africans who came here didn't interact.

  • Its nice to know that you think Anglo Saxon's are cultural diversity...You need to get into a university! For real...That is not diversity, and these are not mountains!! hahaha! And you obviously dont know what diversity or happiness is...This welfare state has damaged your brain!!!

PS...Did my tax dollars go to help you get the internet???

  • I didnt know Africans were Anglo-Saxon, and you better inform the world that the Appalachian Mountains dont exist according to you. I am sure that it is my tax dollars going to your coffers for whatever you are doing in Morgantown.

  • Just because you throw Africans in the mix dosnt constitute diversity....if you think WV is diverse just because there is whites and blacks, you are a moron...BTW these are rolling hills....if you want to see mountains just google the Olympics or Cascades....You sir are a typical west virginian, uneducated, i just dont know if your overweight yet, but im guessing that you are!.....go back to your uneducated, labor job...ie...coal miner hahahaha

  • This Danielwvu guy has been flaming every WV video on youtube. It seems he knows alot about poverty and getting first of the month checks. What's wrong Daniel? Did the mailman skip your box again? GO buy some kleenex.

  • Please...Im in Seattle right now where my trust fund is....ohh its great to be monetary secure!...Now dont be a hater that I have everything I want and need w/o ever working!! WV is a nanny state and you know it!! duhhhhhhhh...

BTW have fun @ the dollar store...while im at nordstroms, fao scwarts, and eating in the space needle!!!

  • I tell you what, If I had a Trust Fund I wwouldnt be spending myh time leaving childish comments all over you tube. But then again I'm sure your telling the truth. Careface? DO we give two shits what you have or do? No we don't. Your arguments are weak Daniel, so stop it here. As you said in a message to me earlier, go shop at FAO schwartz, like that means something? Get a soul fool.

  • Please If you had any extra dollars you would go by pills or meth with it...me I invest my money ....Like in a House, stocks, and bonds....What are you doing?? Probably watching Springer in your trailer!...BTW...your new to this conversation, and it started along time ago w/o you...While I was in Morgantown...I was just replying to your absurd assertion to my economic stability...Because you obviously dont know when I am making fun of you uneducated west virginians

  • So, West Virginians are un educated; yet you came to WVU to recieve your education! I'm just saying...

  • pffffffffffffft i live here this is the only church that looks like that this is hilarious

  • Man, wish I was white so I could go there and enjoy the history of this great state without being stared at.

  • i dont know what race u are but the first freed blacks in america lived in west virginia

  • There is so many hidden treasures in West Virginia, the old coal towns are like stepping back in time. I'm from War, West Virginia, currently living in South Texas. I have been homesick since the day I left.

  • Dan...thank you so much for the beautiful video! I moved from Bramwell to louisiana in 99' and i miss it more than ever!!! I lived right around by the ballfield. Beautiful video!!!

  • hey i alos got to se my house

its the one beside the baseball field

  • i'm from morgantown west virginia...living in tampa florida.jesus...i'm homesick

  • Again wonderful video! I have been here also. I absolutely love the church in the middle of town. Beautiful!

  • Dan, you have nailed it in this video! You are so good at capturing the land and history I feel like I'm back home. Thanks for your excellent work.

    Dan

  • I loved the video,my family is from Bluefield and Crumpler.

  • That is very cool S-Man.

  • Common mountain mammas, prove to us the Virginia State shooter you gave birth to was just an aberration. Vote Obama 08.

  • i live less than 2 miles from there. but here im southern wv we dont pronounce the "w" in bramwell. we say bramell. but i love it there. i have friends that live there. a few in the old mansions. my grandmother grew up in coopers, wv.

  • Thanks rockbaby,

I have heard that after the fact, ha ha

I know it annoys me to no end when people on TV mispronounce the word (Appalachian)

Coopers was a very cool place!

    Dan

  • whew bramwell is a small town lol I grew up in bluefield & below the boarder in va near whytheville... now I live inbetween Maryland, PA & Wv I miss bluefield it is a nice place to live...

  • WOW I loved your video, very informative.

  • Sorry for the delay, but thank you so much for your nice comment.

    Dan

  • Cool story!

  • Thanks you very much

  • Mikma should be here!

  • Great video with excellent information. I saw my uncles home which is right next the sewing factory!! It is a real shame to see what WV once was and to see it in it's current status. The WV government needs to stop worrying so much about restoration in the state and start worrying about a new start to the future!!!

  • Hmm...interesting! My mom would like this.

  • Really Cool Dan...Really Cool!

    Dan From Wheeling,WV

  • What a great video! Back in the day, we always pronounced it "Bramell" I grew up in WV and although I've not lived there in over 20 years, am ever a proud mountaineer. Thank you for this trip down memory lane. Beautiful footage! I'm homesick just watching it.

  • i dont leike it because im 14, I go to school and have to watch such things, no hard feelings, but not my type of vid.

  • If anyone wants to visit, don't go as much as 1mph over speed limit.. it is a speed trap. i was stopped for speeding 5 miles per hr over the limit. Normaly you would expect to pay 40 or 50 bucks. the fine was over $100.00.

  • That's the way it used to be. Come back now--things have changed and they're much better since June!

  • What a JOY, I live in UK & bought a wonderful 58 Buick from a LOVELY lady in Bramwell ten years ago & only spoke with her the other day & she sent me this which bought back many fond memories of my all too short visit to a wondeful place. Congratulations on a lovely presentation on a lovely place. Greetings from England. Steve

  • Thank You Jadeevalley,

we love West Virginia it is an awesome state!

    Dan

  • Fascinating view of a piece of living history. Liked the comment about the "orange bricks imported from England." Just like the ones we still use here in Liverpool!

I will have to have a look at some more of your travels!

  • Very cool Andy,

I thought it was fascinating that they brought the bricks over.. and after nearly 100 years they still seem to be holding up well.

    Dan
