  • great stuff, 5*

The 1604 is the former Vennbahn loco, right?

I think I did a cab ride in that one at Raeren, too.

  • The former Vennbahn loco was the 1603. This loco is now in property of the Belgian railway association PFT/TSP. They also have the 1602 that has been repainted in the SNCB colour scheme for diesel locos and carries number 202020.

The 1604 has never left Luxembourg and was the chosen one to be saved as industrial inheritance (I thought that was determined in 1989).

To bad that the Vennbahn is gone now. It was one the most beautiful railways in Belgium...

  • Thanks for the reply & info!!

Yes, the Vennbahn definitely was great! I was there in 2001. Very friendly and helpful people. They explained everything if you just asked for it...

Really too bad they´re gone. And some remailing historic locos + cars are rusting and rusting in Raeren now ...

  • You're welcome!

  • hey dloc...that steamloc is that a type 26 in belgium with green and black collours??

  • I'm not into steam locos but I did some searching on the Internet and found out that the CFL 5519 is a BR42 and SNCB 26101 is a BR52. But I don't know what the difference is between these two types.
