How... How on Earth could a 14 year old write a concerto like this?? I do prefer this one over the E minor.

have great talent for composition and been pushed by the parents at a very young age. I dont find it amazing for a 14 yo kid to play virtuoso piano since he most likely have been playing for 8-10 years. To compose this at such a young age, even despite his early start IS amazing ^^

oh,... very nice!... I play this concerto this time, too. and with Kristof barati as solist I will play Beethoven Violinconcerto in summer/autumn in germany(bayern), hungary and cech republik.

yes the "mendellsohn Violin Concerto" is actuakllt his second concerto, he wrote his first one when he was 14 years old, which is this one.

nope, sorry but i'm playing this concerto and it was his first concerto and he wrote it with only 11 years old, that's the reason that it's always scales...

most people dont know this but mendelssohn wrote 2 violin concertos your probably thinking of the e minor one its the more popular of the 2 i think they are both amazing
