Reach is not old. He's just dated. Light would've beaten Reach even in his prime, thanks to his superior macro. Back then, before the iloveoov-era, they hadn't figured out how important macro and multitasking was, so a lot of the "old" stars are sub par in those areas for the simple reason that it wasn't a requirement in order to win games, which is it today.
