Unfortunately. Rogers no longer allows users to add 3rd party modems. Meaning your SB5101 (DOCSIS 2) will soon be removed since provisioning is no longer possible. Rogers is going DOCSIS 3.0 on all plans starting at the end of next month. Meaning you'll be forced to use the new $7 a month (or $199.95) SMC3DGN modem/router combo.
Well technically you can't use 3rd party stuff right now either but when you call robbers you to need to speak to the right people at robbers if you want to use 3rd party stuff not all reps know how hook up 3rd party stuff, plus you don't need docsis 3.0 for express nor are robbers going to force it.
@SaveTheHumanRace Right now SB5100's can be provisioned. It's not a matter of whether or not you get the right CSR. It's simply whether or not it can be provisioned. Unfortunately, Rogers is indeed switching all D2 areas to D3 shortly and will be stopping provisioning of SB5100s. My only hope is the SMCD3GN stops being the exclusive D3 modem for Rogers.
Let me know how it turns out and you will still have some Jitter, you will not be able to completely avoid that unless you are able to get a perfect connection, hack even with FTTH you will still have some jitter.
your a dumb ass your not donwloading at 10 mb per second on bit torent... you doing 1 mb you will not doald at what it says in you bill.. iv go 3 mb i get 350kb freind has 10mb he gets 1mb you never download at what you have donwload at trasfer rate are diffrent
10 Mb (on rogers bill / website) = 10 megabits you retard not 10 megabytes (MB)
and 1.25 megabytes (MB) = 10 megabits (Mb) so i'm downloading at 10 megabits, the advertised speed. Why do ppl like you even take the time to comment on these things when you don't even know your facts. Learn the difference between megabit (Mb) and megabyte (MB) loser. BTW your 3 megabit connection is suppose to give you 384 kb (which is very close to what you get and the same can be said in my case).
yep there is also a Kb (kilobit) and KB (kilobyte), most programs like torrent clients use KB (kilobyte) and MB (megabyte) to report speed which confuses many ppl because most ISP and speed test websites use Kb (kilobit) and Mb (megabit)
