I purchased a DPMS oracle. The front gas block is lower than the top rail, (I guess that's how you describe it?) what front/rear sight do you suggest? Want to make sure I get the correct sights. Nice AR by the way.

@NeoUmChangSaeKki very common problem, you have to look for front sights made for a front gas block. most BUIS that are made are made for straight top rails and not gas block and upper rail. as far as suggesting any particular sight, to each his own. but it is possible to get a Riser for the gas block to make it even with your upper rail

@MrBullitt007 According to the ATF that is a "Silencer". Many law abiding citizens who own "Silencers" refer to them as "Suppressors" as that really is a more accurate term. 5.56 NATO is a LOUD caliber. A silencer can do nothing about the supersonic crack. There are better silencers/suppressors out there than the Gemtech used in the video, but none are going to get you true "Hollywood quiet" on that caliber.

update. i took this rifle out to las vegas in july. it was 115 degrees out there, no shade. im gett ing rid of the Casv Weapon system. Way too Hot.before i even fired the first round the rifle was way too hot to handle without gloves. i want something thats good in cold and hot and this isnt it. you MUST wear gloves if your in the desert with the Vltor CASV Weapon system.

@zipakna Sorry,i cant remember who makes it, but there is a product that connects into your magwell and makes it a little beefier with grips, its a lot more comfy then a vfg, and it wont smack you in the dick. just my 2 cents =p

Thats why the device is called suppressor ;) As far as i remember, suppressors can lower the sound by about 30dB or so. Thats actually plenty, b/c just 6dB is the "half volume". Wiki says the good old M1 Garand is as loud as 168dB @ 1 meter. So even with 30dB of attenuation we'd be pretty loud. Using subsonic ammo you got further improvement. Environment is a significant factor too, solid walls of the huge shooting range cause massive reverberation, thus we percieve the sound for a longer time.
