  • The false return in the second theme gets me every time, brilliant piece.

  • Paul Gilbert plays this on electric guitar!

  • @danielrrjd ...and it's AMAZING.

  • wow im playing that on cello way to slow

  • FANTASTISCH.... bin Beethoven- Fan. Daß Beethoven ein Schüler von Haydn war, erkennt man an dieser Synphonie sehr gut, finde ich. Besonders die Sätze 1 und 4 könnten auch von Beethoven sein. Wunderbare Musik. Vielen Dank.

  • that is simply the best piece of music I've ever heard!

  • it always amazes me that Haydn's symphonies on youtube are so largely ignored compared to his two counterparts. *sigh* Papa Haydn doesn't get the respect he deserves.

  • @superiorbandgeek

You are so right! I totally agree with you... IMO you cannot compare haydn's symphonies with Mozart and Beethoven.

Haydn's one of the best composers and he deserves much more respect. :D

  • @superiorbandgeek His *two* counterparts? I'm assume Mozart is one, but who's the other? I'm sure you don't mean Micheal Haydn, so who else among his contemporaries could you be referring to? Or do you mean something else altogether by "counterparts"?

  • @polymath7 Mozart is one of his counterparts. The other would be his student for a time, Beethoven.

  • @superiorbandgeek I wondered if you were thinking of Beethoven, but in what sense is he narrowly one of Haydn's two "counterparts"? I suppose since Haydn lived till 1809 he and Beethovena could be roughly considered contemporaries, and Beethoven is surely the most gifted composer alive at the time of Haydn's death; still strikes me as a bit of a stretch. But now I'm quibbling over semantics; I was just curious whom you had in mind and why.

  • now try interpreting it on guitar its soo amazing on that to <3

  • @TheInvalidChronicles Paul Gilbert's.

  • 全体として、楽章相互のバランスに配慮した緊密な構成が為されていて、まさに「音の建築」とでも言えるような、しっかりとした造りの作品になっていると思います。

  • My theory teacher used this as an example of 'motives'. It's a great movement of a great symphony! Very carefree!

Any reason for the inverted colors of the pictures? Does it have some deeper meaning mayhaps?

  • Love it!

  • a bit too slow in my opinion, but beautiful recording and a wonderful symphony!

  • I agree

  • Wonderful, I love this symphony :)

  • Magnifica!
