He's using a liquid cooling system to cool his CPU instead of a normal heatsink/fan. The radiator is what disperses the heat from the liquid. There is also the pump, which obviously pumps the liquid, and the reservoir, which is where you put the liquid into the system and can usually monitor liquid levels.
Hi. I want to buy an Aquagate MAX and replace the radiator with a 3 or 4 fan Koolance's, for an i7 rig....is that ok..? no problem..? other question: for connections, I just need to buy nozzles, right? according to the tube size, right?...What's the difference between Barb and Compression nozzles...?
Replacing the radiator shouldn't be a problem, although I would recommend aluminum since the aquagate stock rad is also aluminum. And yeah, nozzles are for connecting. Barbs are just little nozzles that go inside the tubing and you usually use cable ties to attach. Compression are like barbs with a part that screws on the top of the tubing, compressing it. They look prettier. If you do get compression, though, make sure it's the same size as the tubing!
Thanks..yeap I was thinking a 3 fan aluminum Rad woud be fine. I thought Compression Nozzel compress the liquid... : ) .Sorry, 1 more question: I want to put Waterblocks on everything I can...so, are the Aquagate and one 3f Rad good enough to support all that travel...CPU, mosfet, memory(maybe), NB,SB, VGA....or Do i need another pump or reservoir or Rad to support it...?
I don't see why it wouldn't work, but make sure you have enough tubing and fluid (and the nozzles, for that matter). I can't say for sure, but if it doesn't work, you can always get a second smaller rad, or sell the one you're getting and buy a new one. Same with the pump, although two pumps probably is a bad idea.
its not as big as I thought it would be, all the pictures I've seen make it look like its two times the size of it lol
