umm..just a correction..the national language is called Fipino which is also referred to the people of the Philippines..the people are also called Filipino..Tagalog is just one of the dialects just like Hiligaynon, Ilocano, etc. Philippines is an archipelago and it has so many dialects in different islands..c;

Mom always tells me ever since I was a kid that pointing stuff using lips and calling people Hoy are rude...hahaha. At this generation, no one's doing those stuff anymore. As someone from Mindanao, we don't usually use hoy and I think it's a habit of those from Manila(those guys who speak Tagalog)...for the guys who speak Bisaya, it's like they use bai to refer to people or call people's attentions and drop the hoy habit...hahaha
