Hi mineself - Well, the organizers certainly knew what Malcolm does: Scottish music, start to finish -- and no contemporary practitioner is better at it. (Of course, Tramps and Hawkers was a standard for the Dubliners, among other Irish players. just sayin')
Maybe I'm just too uptight, but I find it odd that a song about Scotland was played at an Irish music festival. Though, the song does briefly mention at the end about going to Ireland because Scotland has changed too much, but it's still a Scottish song really.
Also I suppose since the Scottish and Irish both have the same ancestry it works out.

Maybe I should just shut the hell up...
I still love the song anyway.

He's one of the few people I've seen who has fun on stage and is into his own music. I'd love too chance to either see him live or meet him.

Get on his site and have him over to your house for a house concert. He is really cool, my wife and I did it in the spring of 2008.

Tramps & hawkers. Last time I heard this was a Corries version. Great to hear it resurrected.
