  • SUPER!!!

  • Dude.. you are AWESOME!... Loved your tutorial.. Wish all the tutors were like you.. :)

  • AWESOME!!!

  • woowo cool tip, very useful

  • maaan, that Protect feature is awesome. Somehow I didn't see it. Love this tut. Short and to the point. Thanx a lot

  • nyc dude

  • Hi, thanks for the lesson. I'm curious, if you wanted to use content aware scaling to take this photo vertically, would that have distorted the couple? Reason I'm asking is that I used the steps you presented to try and expand my picture vertically, and even though I've used the lasso tool to protect the subjects, it still expands them. thoughts?

  • @beachbumkg - yes, you should be able to expand an image vertically. Without seeing your machine, my first instinct is that the channel needed to be set as "Protected" in the Content-Aware options bar. Making & saving the selection is just the first part to keep the data from distorted.

  • Man I love U!!!

  • Great work. Thank you from Germany.

  • Wow that's pretty awesome! :D

  • Wow Awesome Tut for an awesome feature,.. thanks AJ!

  • ¡¡¡Muy bueno!!!

  • Wood, Content Aware sucks in macro photos.

  • how do i do that for, let's say, a logo on a landscape? Every time i try to use your method, it seems to distort the logo anyway.

  • Could you please tell me how can I make the background white of an image in Photo shop cs4?

  • @amiransari - if you just want to fill the background with a white color you can goto Edit-->Fill then choose White as the color. If you're attempting to place an object on a white background, then you will need to make a selection of the object first to isolate it on it's own layer.

  • @ajwood2001 cheers

    @Wallenstein cheers

  • 멋지네요! 잘보고 갑니다.^^

  • Whirlwind day! Thanks everyone for the comments!

  • just 1 note:

you should show also the classic way instead of shortcuts only........for example: unlocking the background layer at 1:09

    btw: great video :)

  • @DeViLvs - thanks for the feedback. The challenge for me is not overloading folks with too much info during the videos. The other issue is being too repetitive when looking at the videos as a series. You'll find I try to elaborate when it makes sense, but then use shortcut to keep things moving along.

Glad you liked the video, and thanks again for the feedback.

  • cool

  • LOL! "Baby's got a little too much back!" :D

  • thanks man !

  • Great tutorial!!! You made my day happier, thanks

  • Nice Job!

  • Why crop instead of editing canvas size? Does it change at all? Photoshop noob here >.<

  • @RhapsodyWizard It will do the same thing. Going to Image > Canvas Size.. will bring you to the same point as "over-cropping" the image.

  • @RhapsodyWizard - Wallenstein is correct. I used the Crop Tool as a shortcut. I find it faster than the Canvas Size command. Either one would work.

  • Guess What, A.J is the coolest guy when it comes to tutorials. :D

  • that is magic!

  • 3:11 LIKE :)

  • Very good tutorial! You speak very clearly, so that everybody on the world can understand you : D Super!

  • me like :3

  • Nice tutorial. thanks

  • Thanks AJ for a superb tutorial. Great delivery and good pace. Not too fast or slow.

  • That picture was shoped-wasn't it? 0:44 - between her left hand and body (and his hair).

  • @Winsucker Kevin does some post-processing of his own prior to sending me images. The only changes I make are what's demonstrated in the tutorial.

  • just brilliant and inspiring as always! tnx A.J. :)
