the only thing i found interesting about the phone was the fact that it had an app that lets you take a pic of the barcode and it scans and lets you know if yur gettin a good deal or not. other than that i'd give this phone a 2 out of 10

I got mine yesterday - i paid full price for mine - i dont like cell phone contracts - i also have an iphone - which i dont use anymore - but to be honest - i did not really find the G-1 any better than the iphone - I personally like my t-mobile wing phone - i just feel that at&t and t-mobile are trying to get me to purchase all these applications that i dont really need - i dont really care much for all the text messages they send you - giving you details on new applications - annoying

No offense to people that use T-mobile but the service kinda sucks. my friends can barely get service where i get service. id get verizon and get a blackberry or something.

Youre missing the point entirely. Yes, you have freedom of speech, but the phone companies are infringing on your freedom to privacy by basically giving the govt a wiretap on all your wireless communication. Its the principle of the thing, and it was recently illegal (despite comp like AT&T doing it). Remember when it used to be that the govt needed a warrant to wiretap your phone lines?

Thankfully, a recent prez mandate made the phone companies exempt from violating our constitutional rights. Attitudes to this infringement on like I have nothing to hide are beside the point. Its a loss of privacy and the American people shouldnt stand for it. If we do, its a slippery slope of giving up our freedoms. (when I mentioned the camera in your house, it was a reference to the dystopian 1984 novel by Orwell an extreme example of where that slope can lead).
