  • thanks! i have always wanted one. but did not know if they smelled bad or not. i know a man who keeps and breeds working ferrets, he said i could have one from the next litter. is that a lead you have in the vid, and do you take him for walks outside?

  • Yep, it is a lead, although, it's more like he takes me for walks :P He likes to stop and smell almost everything, and only really walks well when my dogs are ahead of him, so he has something to chase! I take him to the park a lot when there isn't any snow.

  • wow that sounds like fun! do they have to have injections before they are allowed out? and can you train them to use a litter tray? sorry for all the questions but i want to know as much about them as possible befor i get one.

  • They have to have dog distemper and rabies shots, but mine already came with his shots done. It depends where you get them. They also need shots annually. My ferret already knew how to use the litter box when I got him, at 8 weeks old, and I've yet to hear of a ferret who can't use one :)

  • do they smell?

  • They have their own "musk"... he was a bit strong smelling as a kit, but no one in my house notices his scent anymore. I also clean his cage daily, and have "Stinky Pet Crystals", which really eliminates the smell.

  • lol does it work

  • Heh, no, he's just a hyper house pet! Do you have working ferrets?
