These netbooks are really starting to become ripoffs. Newegg 700-800 dollars you might as well get a desktop or a normal laptop. Gaming netbook defeats the purpose of it being a netbook.
the optical drive though does take the fun out but if u use hdmi than i mean it qutie use the n draft card is sumthing that sould come out on other notebooks apart from the del mini note
Any success with leo? What distro are you trying? There is 10.5.5 succeed with the msi wind and asus eee. Its note has the same atom + nvidia. Looks good. :)
It's a netbook built for gaming (Geforce 9300M), it can run COD 4 with good framerates, but probably not good details. You also have to reboot if you want the full power of the system.
Looks a little cool, not that I would use it for gaming primarily, but probably works if you want a portable entertainment machine while traveling.
Yeah, XP might be the right option for this computer. But overclocking might not be good; seeing as the system is small it is unlikely to have good cooling system to handle overclocking.
@ nepal and playfsx -- Just deny the windows vista eula, (take a picture as evidence, or something) and call asus and get a refund. If you deny the vista Eula, legally, they have to write you a check.
For that price, the least I expect is a bezel thinner than my ass.
Just because Asus is trying to make even more money out of this product by making me squint when a 11" or perhaps even a 12" panel fits easily, I will NOT be buying this otherwise cool machine.
They'll probably release it as a higher model. Look, for that price, I think you're expecting too much. There are plenty of larger screen laptops out there.
fingerprint reader? oh.. thats such a major rip from ibm/lenovo

with the N10J, it has 1GB ram, can you upgrade it to 2GB? like the EEE 100
NiTr091 3 years ago
Yea. I think the N10J comes with 2GB actually

The n10e is the one with 1gb ram, but the n10e doesn't come with the nvidia card

I was downgrade to XP yesterday and it well working.
and I also install Express card type 4G SSD(slc) for Temp/adobe swap/temp internet/pagefile.sys
during last two days, I try to install OSX Leopard to this machine for dual booting. but it still not working yet.
If it possible to install Leopard to N10, it will be most light weight hi perfomanced MacBook
as a owner of N10, only one problem is it is not easy to customizing BIOS setting. in n10 AMI BIOS has no way to change detail options.

for gaming it would be alot better off with an xp downgrade. COd 4 on vista, like what 15 frames? unless u overclocking it, (or do both)

the cooling is already efficent, getting up to 60 degree c is not a huge problem

playfsx 3 years ago
Stop complaining... just install it after. It's not hard and it's free.
asjeot 3 years ago
ya, but if it was out with linux installed then no need to pay for vista ( 50-100$ ) right ?
that will make it abit cheaper ;)
