Thanks for posting. Can I hook up my own mic and bypass the built in one? I am a singer songwriter and would be using it for recording / documentation when I am writing a song, instead if having to stop and, physically, notate the the music. The mic and preamp set that I have is of much higher quality. Would the software detect my own mic and record it, in sync with the video feed?

@novanine9 I don't use the built in MIc on my webcam either, so yea you can use a different mic!
