dude i'm sorry, i don't blame AM for sounding like milburn, i blame the nme and other lazy journalists for calling milburn a tribute act, but nowadays i can't listen to AM without thinking that i prefer milburn and that if it weren't for AM they would still be together. i don't mind that milburn never made it 'big', it's the worlds loss but it pisses me off that they split up! especially when you look at what AM have become in their absence

erm i think you can compare milburn to AM. it's quite a simple comparison really AM took milburns niche and sound and ran with it. it's a fucking travesty and all because the nme let people no led people to beleive that AM were the ones being ripped off

@casualastheycome you're right, it is quite a simple comparison, they have a similar sound. But you can't say that Arctic Monkeys aren't great because they 'stole' milburns sound. Hundreds of bands probably tried to steal The Beatles' sound, but because nobody got better than them, nobody was bothered. Arctic Monkeys took Milburns sound, got a better band together and did a better job, and likewise achieved more success. That's as simple as gets.

@scargill8 i don't think AM sound better than milburn. AM just blew up on the internet before anyone outside sheffield had heard of milburn, there was definately space for both of them if the media did their research and found out who came first
