  • I think the role banter may be some secret code possibly referring to some sort of illicit drug. Seems like they sure got some powerful pills. :]

  • can someone please tell me what kind of marvelous ganja these guys got a hold of before this and where i can get some

  • they sippin on some boomer tea or what...

  • What I want to know is who's dropping Rolls?

  • sick tshirt

  • ...as well as the beatles

  • i've gained a little weight on this tour. and i think that roll gets in the way the most on this tour.

  • I can never believe tom wrote makisupa policeman in 3rd grade...theres just no way I feel like they just go along with that because its funny to think of a 3rd grade writing that.

  • Fish can't play and sing at same time cause of his double stroke roll ... LMFAO

  • This is the funniest shit I've seen in a while.

  • trey is fucked up beyond belief ahah

  • And the BEATLES!! White Album at Glens Falls on Halloween four months later!

  • i wonder what their on

  • god i want to punch the dorky interviewer

  • they are so stoned haha

  • "Patterns weave...interamongst... interamongst weaving of the patterns."

  • the guy farthest to the left reminds me of michael cera

  • @littlekidlover569

its the bassist mike gordon, and i thought that for YEARS since i saw michael cera in arrested development

  • Fishman - "Birdsinger"

  • "it's music without meter... but it's timely... it's a music who's time has come"

    page is the man.

  • @5:34 wtf drumming?

  • man this interview is so fucking funny

  • nice shorts guys

  • 'music w/out meter of course... you guys are known for that'

  • spun phishes

  • lmao look at page zoning out at 5:54 when the camera starts to zoom in on fish.

  • music without meter, of course, you guys are known for that.

  • jesus christ they're spun like yo yos

  • ..and the beatles.

  • lol! fish is such a goofus :D

  • i just love how they fuck with the interviewer...i love when page says "thanks" at the end of his statement haha Mike: "inter amongst weeving of the patterns" hahaha

  • I love how they deal with this interview

  • i feel so uncomfortable for phish. they're trying to be nice, and he's such a goomba

  • i love jon fishman. he's fucking halarious

  • was at the kalamazoo show.

  • Even though this interviewer is a little unprofessional I feel that hes actually asked the best questions than any other interviewer. He actually knows about the band so hes not just asking about their business ventures.

  • gordo reminds me of a fawn

  • What a group of incredibly fucked up looking nerd dickheads. White people are so fucking stupid. If you really want to dance to some REAL FUNK buy black artists.

  • @MrMandingus, your polarizing racist attitude is one of the past. Not only is Phish influenced by music from a variety of cultures, artists (including black ones) respect Phish and what they have done for music. You obviously haven't been to Bonnaroo, because in 2009 Snoop Dogg finished his set by asking the crowd if they "were ready for Phish." So, again, your ignorant attitude and stupid remarks are outdated feelings from a hateful bigot. Go learn how to play an instrument and open your mind.

  • r these guys jews?

  • i hate these DUMB phony phuckers

they aren't even good- pnly their shit head PHAGGOT PHUCKING PHANS like them.

they can't even really play - they are just poseurs for syupid boobs who don't know any better

  • @jkweddingentrancesux, first off, your opinions don't matter if for no other reason because your spelling abilities are next to none. Not only are they very good, they can really play. Why are you even watching this video? Because you tried to play music, failed miserably, and saw an interview of talented musicians and realized that they are goofy as hell and having fun in life? I know you are sad about your petty existance, but don't bash good music just because you suck.

  • @JeffisfromKentucky

wow. so i made a TYPO (which is different than a misspelling)

The Y is next to the T so I typed "syupid" instead of "sTupid"

    Wow! u got me there.

These guys suck. They are bland w no soul.

Any kid in a guitar center is every bit as good as this tray asshole.

Only people who can't play w any creativity think he is any good.

These guys are the biggest no talents to be as big as they are.

    Fucking garbage!

  • @jkweddingentrancesux, what band are you in? Oh yeah, that's right, you are just another average guy talking shit about a group that found success by being original. It is less creative to hate on a band than it would be to prove they suck by making something better yourself. But you can't, and you haven't, and you won't. So go 'tweet' or blog about how much you hate people more talented than you. And oh yeah, it makes you look less ignorant if you check your spelling before you post.

  • @JeffisfromKentucky

    phuck off.

this stuff appeals to dummies like u and the loser interviewer who comes bopping into the video w his big hair and his lingo...

    lol

    buncha dopes.

again, u don't understand the diff between misspelling and a typo?

no wonder u like these morons

    they suck just like u

  • @jkweddingentrancesux, again, why are you still commenting on Phish videos? You MUST love them, because you can't get enough of them. Their antics in this interview worked; at least one person got pissed off as a result of them having fun! Try it sometime, you might actually get a whiff of the genius that is NOT taking everything so damn seriously.

  • i love how they all fuck with big daddy haha

  • @crazykillah911 that is also the drummers favorite song

  • patterns weave inter-amongst, inter-amongst weaving of the patterns.. ahhahah

  • gotta love how goofy they are hahah

  • This is the funniest shit I have ever seen.

  • This is pretty funny stuff! Fishman is great!

  • Trey's Mom was an enormous influence on him and thus on Phish. She encouraged him to write songs. He wrote a song called 'If I were a dog' which is now the final section of Lizards that everyone loves. Hum the first five notes and you'll see how 'If I were a dog' fits. Now Phish donates huge sums of time and money to children's musical education.

  • this is great! i bet the interviewer is probably gettin frustrated

  • Inter amongst weiven inter amongst patterns...and the beatles....HEY HEY HEY...Someone hass to be mindless

  • Why does fishman have 2 b such a peckerhead. Saw him in Atlanta and ask him for a autograph and he told me to fuck off

  • @cory19720, that sucks man. Charles Barkley did that to me at a celebrity golf scramble when I was a kid. It crushed me. And now I can't stand that bloated jerk-off. Don't let that one interaction deter you from liking Phish. Fishman was probably on drugs and feeling wierd. Like Alec Baldwin says in The Departed, "He's really a good guy, don't judge him by this meeting alone!"

  • Look at fish holdin the glass! hahahaha

  • this shits hilarious

  • does anyone else think page resembles tom hanks circa BIG in this interview!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Dude fishman is fucking so high. ahaha

  • hahaha everyone's messing around except for page and the reporter

  • That was awesome... And hilarious, due to the low-quality of it. Hearing the people in the background was awesome. The interviewer did a great job, I'd say, and I'm glad he was very familiar with their music. This was great to watch, thanks for posting it!

  • "Bird-singer" LMAO

  • I'd also like to say that Axilla is our drummers favorite song.

  • this guy is such a tool hahahaha

  • Great Interview!

  • hahaha and the beatles

  • i miss stoner shows like this.

  • i love how fish is holding his beverage

  • im from grand rapids..if i wasnt 9...i would have been at this show! lol

  • @mmzjahliv if I wasn't 1 i would have too bro

  • birdsingers

  • it's without meter, but it's timely

  • You're actually doing a really great job interviewing them. Really down to earth and you obviously knew they music. Much better than the other interviews done by major networks. Bravo.

  • at 3:13 Trey seems sooo sad, haha.

  • they are so fuckin goofy i love it

  • serious lulz at how fishman is holding his cup

  • ummm...i can't sing and play at the same time

  • bird singer

  • they got page from ghostbusters

  • God this is great. Love this band. Really funny stuff.

  • this is really funny!!!

  • huge phan, just saw this today for the first time, first 4 mins of it had me crackin up the whole time. and yes they do look rough but the road will do that, gotta love fish's glasses

  • COOKIECUTTER TEETH

  • love the glide shirt

  • i'd also like to say Axilla is the drummers favorite song

  • Notice they all say "The Beatles" and it happens to be 4 months before they do The White Album. Nice hint boys. Very clever. BTW, They look rough.

  • Notice they all say "The Beatles" and it happens to be 4 months before they do The White Album. Nice hint boys. Very clever. BTW, They look rough.

  • Lol. Fishman is awesome.

  • i just wanna say that i thought your questions were very good, and though it comes off as them being assholes it actually reminds me of the way they jam, using each of what each other says in what they say, .....

  • My favorite interview ever

  • They are drinking fluoride free water

  • Actually its vodka

  • they fucking keep making jokes, i too have a roll

  • " must mention that after the interview I made a request of Trey for that evening's show: Run Like an Antelope. Check the setlist... :-)"

Now, that is a truly Epic... FAHT > ANTELOPE... one of my favorite versions..

    awesome work bruh!!!

  • I told mike i liked his shirt and it can be heard on the tape of the show.

    I have you beat.

  • they are total goof balls. its a wonder they have on stage antics....lol.....love you Phish. see you this summer

  • hahahah this interview is hysterical

  • "I find singing and playing at the same time difficult because of my roll as well, my closed roll in particular, and sometimes my double stroke roll. but mainly the roll, i ve gained alittle wait on this tour and i find that that roll is what gets in my way most of the time" new favorite quote

  • they are all high out of there minds!!!!!!!!! classic phish

  • How do you know? hahaha...you know they really didnt party that much right?

I know cause i was around touring with them when there was maybe 10 people doing phish tour.

  • what do u consider partying

  • A LOT more than most people.

  • Zooming in on Fishman staring at the camera. Classic.

  • What tune is playing in the background in the intro?

  • tweezer

  • Wow this brings back some memories. My first show was in June 94. Is it just me or were they hinting at what the Halloween costume would be in 94.

  • baaahh,, look at our dudes in '94!!! i wish i could go back and drop outta the 4th grade and tour...

  • no shit man me too

  • this guy is so cool

  • I'm from Kalamazoo and this is hilarious. Went to the show but hard to remember. Funny that one of the interview questions is how hard it is to sing and play at the same time? They are pro's dude. Also love the microphone passing.

  • This is an interview from about 1994, just when I started to enjoy their music. They haven't grown too much since this video, still young in the heart.

  • This has to be a set up, fucking out there.

  • great post!

  • This is one of the greatest things ever...any Phish fan should be happy at the chance to see a glimpse of the guys just being guys. Also, the show they played the previous night in Illinois is one of my favorite of 1994!

  • interamongst weaving of the patterns

  • good job preserving this view of music history

  • they talk seriously, about 60% of the time.

  • i was there and the next 3shows :) thanx !!

  • hilarious

  • Is it just me or does the drummer look just like russell crowe in "the insider?"

  • Did the interviewer know before hand that they would be fucking w/ him and his questions? Love this interview...good ole' fashioned PHiSH!!

  • the band is F'ing amazing!! fischman kills me in this interview haha

  • Phish, the coolest nerds ever

  • "I'd also like to say that axilla is our drummer's favorite song."

    "mmmkay, uggh, so..."

    Nothing beats the early interviews.

  • Hey hey heeey...hey hey HEEEYYYYYY!

    HA!

  • axilla is the drummers favorite song

  • LOL this is the stuff that is classic; before they knew that they were going to explode into a huge commercial success! They look like little kids with glasses of kool aid at the kids house with the mean parents.

  • lord, i love Phish interviews so much....the intermixing of silly and serious answers is great.

  • its a music whos time has come thanks haha

  • I'll never forget how damn HOT it was inside the theatre that night!

  • page is actually on a roll

  • this guy is such a loser

  • Nuff said!

  • hahahahah fish at 5:55 LMFAO

  • dig mike's shorts, one decade behind

  • PAGE IS SO EFFING CLASSY!!!!

  • the seem pretty done for...

  • jeff albertson would say; "Best Interview Ever."

  • hahaha "interamongst weaving of the patterns"

  • lmao...passing the mic is awesome....it's like so high tech

  • hell yeah thanks! this is great!

  • haha is it me or do they do all of their old interviews like this. Theyre always really akward and lots of dry humor

  • Yeah that "role" "roll" section was great. Fishman started it by talking about drum rolls lmao

  • hahaha

  • lol, this is funny

  • It's so hilarious and awkward at the same time, I love it!

  • great interview, had no idea it existed

  • funny stuff

  • "my parents loathed the beatles, and all other music"

  • lol, mike gordon is so ugly

  • What an awesome view into the brilliance of Phish... word play being a part of their creative strength in songwriting. The whole "role" section with Cactus topping it off with "honor roll" brings a deep moment of nostalgic glee during which I completely forget all problems of today recalling a time when all was well or so it seemed in the world...what a different time it was! Thanks Phish and interviewer.

  • thank you for posting this! big daddy is the mack daddy.

  • hey guys did you know axilla is the drummer's phavorite song?? lol

  • I actually own the "Holy Grail." This is a stop on that run.

  • "patterns weave interamongst, interamongst weaving of the patterns."

  • LMMFAO~!@~@#!#

  • Yeah, it wasn't until after I scored the interview that I realized I had no idea how to do the interview! I'm just a gawky, starry-eyed, gushing fan who's so nervous he keeps cutting off the guests - embarrassing yes, but entertaining nonetheless!

  • This is straight up comedy! The best Phish interview I've seen yet. The passing of the mic is hilarious!

  • i love these guys

  • great stuff

  • Classic, thank you for posting. I was at this show, it was also a classic.

  • good stuff!

  • this is hilarious

  • gay 90s'd

  • hahahaha ye big time
