Trey's Mom was an enormous influence on him and thus on Phish. She encouraged him to write songs. He wrote a song called 'If I were a dog' which is now the final section of Lizards that everyone loves. Hum the first five notes and you'll see how 'If I were a dog' fits. Now Phish donates huge sums of time and money to children's musical education.

What an awesome view into the brilliance of Phish... word play being a part of their creative strength in songwriting. The whole "role" section with Cactus topping it off with "honor roll" brings a deep moment of nostalgic glee during which I completely forget all problems of today recalling a time when all was well or so it seemed in the world...what a different time it was!
