well, ill be honest, i hate obama as much as i hated bush, however im a libertarian... I agree with him on the environment, i feel that he has the same feeling i do. we as people all have one thing in common, we share the same planet, so lets take care of it
if you think about it.. the only way to save the earth is to decrease the global human population. cuz even if everyone conserved. we are still doing enough damage to destroy the enviroment. (my opinion)
Obama being president is a change.. but its not positive. I want a more recent interview with Joe and see what his perspective and opinion is now. Not to get political or anything but i think Obama is deconstructing America. Why do you think only 48% of americans agree with his decisions?
Because most Americans are under the impression he's some kind of extreme socialist and fail to realise A. He's not much of a socialist, B. Social Democracy is working far better in europe than the US system is on your side of the Atlantic and C. Nationalised Health Care works really well, I'm from the UK and nobody here would get rid of the NHS.
Its not that Obama is a terrible president or anything, its just that hes trying to change what America was founded on. If Nationalized Health Care works in the UK, thats great. But most Americans probably wants what is best for America.
You know, Gojira sort of reminds me of System of a Down. Simply because they're trying to tell us that we need to take care of our planet and treat it right. Their music may be different but their minds are the same.
You can't compare them to system, the message is so different. System are too political. I don't know how to say this in english but gojira try to be more constructive in what they say. When System say something, it is mostly anger.
Plus, There nothing metaphorical in their lyrics, it's just fuck the system.
It's not because they are both against the system that you compare what they say.
That's only part of system's message. Yes, you're right, they do speak out of anger in a lot of their stuff. And they are very political. But in many (or at least the ones I saw) interviews with Serj, he speaks about how we need to protect the Earth rather than destroy it on the daily basis. I agree, Gojira is ten times more constructive and heck of a lot better. It also wasn't a comparison, per say, more like a reminder. But I do see what you're saying.
This is not about being a hippie, this is about exactly what Joe said: "A LACK OF CONSCIOUSNESS." Come on we have to wake up people, we honestly have to mature as a race upon this planet. Joe is an inspiration I will be working with him someday...
