  • Hi Davie

That's got Llyn Brenig Heather Fly written all over it. I tie a similar fly but use CDC as a wing instead of the yarn. Love your video's, please keep up the good work

  • Hi Davie,

I am not able to get to the trout waters just now so I went and fished the local ponds. I got several good takes from bass and pumpkinseed sunfish on this fly. I tied a few in black, brown and golden olive, all did well today.

Many thanks for the pattern and video!

  • Hi GreyBuzzer,

Well done to you and thankyou very letting me know....ATB Davie

  • I found myself in a fall of Heather Flies yesterday, without a specific imitation. This hopper worked a treat! Nice one!

  • Davie what could i substitute the polyprop? I'm thinking possum fur might be good, or hare... Also, would this be a point fly in team?

  • Hi dunamisjc,

Possum would be a great natural choice and would work a treat. I would fish it as a piont fly first but also in a team with nymphs with it on the top dropper, there's many other ways but these would be my first choice...

    All the best Davie

  • what shop do u get your stuff out of

  • Hi Nicolelennonbabe,

I buy my materials from many sources it's because I tye many different patterns but for the mainstream flies your local shop would most times be able to help..

    All the best Davie
