They made record profits last year while covering less people and throwing more people off. I've travelled to other countries that have insurance for all, have you? In Brazil last year I went to a doctor, had x-rays, they were read in an hour, and I got an antibiotic. All for $3 American. They didn't even care that I was American. Everyone is give health care. (2) Robbing Medicare and SocialSecurity to fund this healthcare bill.
(3) First 10yrs adds $500 billion to deficit. Second 10yrs adds $1.5T

I don't trust Harry & Nancy any more than I trust med insurance corps. The real issue, however, is the state of the economy.What really irks me is that so many naysayers(ones that voted for Bush twice) are all over Obama when he hasn't been in office for more than a year. He inherited a mess voters created when they voted (twice) for Bush who was backed by a coniving team of individuals that helped ruined our nation. Those voters need to sit back and keep quite for the next 4 years.

the best argument for funding healthcare still is not being put forth. we can end sickness. end it. it may cost many millions upfront. but then its payed for. I would like to point out as well that it is exactly what our nation needs at this moment to fill the gap from our jobs being shipped overseas. we will have to build new hospitals and dr.s offices and train new workers. JOBS. the moment the bill is signed the unemployment rate will plummet to near zero.

You put a trillion dollars now, but the amount of money coming back years after is unimaginable. I, like most right leaning Americans and having worked in healthcare myself and seeing people die after they were cut from thier insurance, I want free or low cost insurance for everyone in this nation that cant afford it. I also want to open up insurance across state lines to open up competition. What I do not want is the government taking over the total healthcare industry. I also do not want my tax money going to fund abortions. Illegals? Give them free insurance, too. Jesus would!

First of all, our "system" needs reform, but we have the best actual health care and medical technology in the world. A prime minister of Canada just came down to Miami for surgery! I would like to see issues dealt with one at a time through the private sector and smaller bills addressing particular issues. We have already wasted 13 months getting this fixed.

The point is that the insurance companies are simply not as reliable a government-mandated/govt-specified health care plan. Which do you think has greater interest in the safety of consumers from abuses? Definitely not the companies that have fought reform for the past several decades. The Republicans are serving the interests of the insurance companies here (in this video)--not the American people.
