Hi tenchi, since 2009 I've feel in love with naruto it's the greatest, but the Japanese language I couldn't get into. May 2011 I watched boys over flowers and fell in love with the language. I've learned hangul, I'm reading, and speaking sentences. I study everyday. I love korean culture and I'm african american with blk family and my kids are learning too. I love it when I go to a korean store and start talking there language it's awesome to see there faces.

I've already been over to their house, had traditional korean meals with them, (my family is pretty sure she's already trying to set me up with one of her sons~), & they're even taking me to korea next year. I agree a lot on your talks about illuminati and etc, but this one I have to disagree. I know you didn't state fact that every single person follows by the media but I still have to say that I'm different. There's differences between all asians, and koreans appeal mostly to me. It has nothing to do with the media because to me they can't pick who I get attracted to lol. But otherwise, I do agree with you on various of things :)
My sister was in Korea this past month for a language immersion program. Let's say she saw some some pretty crazy, whacked-out fan girls out there. Some people going on the trip were clearly there for superficial reasons, like, to meet a korean boyfriend or go see Super Junior or Shinee... not even interested in the language, just Kpop. It's delusional and immature.

i know a lot of people (asian and non-asian) who cringe when others imitate a culture that doesn't match their clothing/speaking style. i mean he's right about doing whatever you want. if it's part of who you are, express it! but a fine line exists. on one side, you can appear to be genuinely interested in another culture. on the other, you might just look like an obnoxious poser. tricky, tricky.
I think when u become friends with sum1 or develop affections 4 sum1, u naturally become interested in everything connected 2 them. Not only that, u get intertangled in their "karma" a bit. I'm Black Latina. I was always picked on by other Black people for speaking properly. They always made me feel like I was strange or not really Black. I was always called an Oreo or a White girl. I listen to all types of music, I like to eat food for all types of cultures and I'm trying to learn Mandarin and Arabic. It's good to know that there other people out there like me. I never understood how you could "act white" or "act black".

Love seeing no colors doesn't only mean not dating someone because of their race or skin tone but it also means not wanting to date someone because they are a certain race. I'm half Korean half Black and I loooove Kpop, anime, I'm into Asian guys, and almost all of my friends are Asian. The majority of people at my school are Asian. I have gotten a few comments about me being "super Asian" and I people seem to think I'm insecure about my Black side and I want to be full Korean...which is not the case.

I've always liked asian american guys along with other guys of other ethnicities.. but i think its funny that now its slowly bcoming 'trendy'. for over a yr ive had people ask me and look at me wondering why or what i see in this one guy KA guy because im caucasian but now, i start to hear something different as if NOW its acceptable for me to be involved with him and not 2-5 years ago. media and culture controls peoples' perceptions and everythign so easily and they dont even notice it.
@us3rname101 That's what I fear, us Asian men just being looked at as a "trend". So for all u chicks out there, date us not just cos it's the trendy thing to do! Lol =) But I think it just a matter of the sign of the times really. Unlike even 5 years ago, more Asian men are branching out and dating non-Asian women. At the same time more non-Asian women like yourself are more open to the idea of dating Asian men. A simple process of acculturation as those behaviors become more commonplace.
Thank you for talking about this, I know a guy who tells me I act to asian cause I listen to asian music and watch asian media, and he completely ignores the fact that i also watch American, Indian, Europian and so on. Its fustrating how so many asian guys i know tell me that i'm trying to act asian when I am just trying to be myself. I am happy at least someone may it be someone on youtube is okay with people who listen to music other then American music when not that part of that culture.

I see myself Puerto Rican b/c every other Rican I melt is mixed with Black or something else. Us Ricans are just super swirl babies. I don't think Ricans care to much about IR. @0hayoung0 I spoke my languages as a child. My parents spoke to me in all three languages. So naturally i picked it up. When I grew older, I had alot of Korean friends... so thus I practiced daily~ and I eventually became fluent :)

I would prefer some music from other countries than from America. Not because I'm trying to be something I'm not or anything, but because the music nowadays have no meaning to them(no offense ). It's so cool you mentioned how language connects people like a family. I completely agree~
In fact, a few months ago my mom met a Korean woman & mentioned how I study Chinese, Japanese, & Korean (busy study schedule, I know), & she freaked out instantly. I've already been over to their house, had traditional korean meals with them, (my family is pretty sure she's already trying to set me up with one of her sons~), & they're even taking me to korea next year. Bonding via language. Wonderful. :'D

I agree a lot on your talks about illuminati and etc, but this one I have to disagree. I know you didn't state fact that every single person follows by the media but I still have to say that I'm different. There's differences between all asians, and koreans appeal mostly to me. My sister was in Korea this past month for a language immersion program. Let's say she saw some some pretty crazy, whacked-out fan girls out there. Some people going on the trip were clearly there for superficial reasons, like, to meet a korean boyfriend or go see Super Junior or Shinee... not even interested in the language, just Kpop. It's delusional and immature.
I agree, there is this media-induced fantasy. These whacky fan girls need to grow up and snap out of their dreams.

I can totally relate to this person. I'm a black girl and I will admit I have a major interest in Asian culture/music/philosophy, etc. Just like you said there is no such thing to "act" any type of "race". That is called a STEREOTYPE. lol I've had issues with ppl critizing me for trying to be "Asian" but im not, I'm being ME. i know a lot of people (asian and non-asian) who cringe when others imitate a culture that doesn't match their clothing/speaking style. i mean he's right about doing whatever you want. if it's part of who you are, express it! but a fine line exists. on one side, you can appear to be genuinely interested in another culture. on the other, you might just look like an obnoxious poser. tricky, tricky.

I'm Black Latina. I was always picked on by other Black people for speaking properly. They always made me feel like I was strange or not really Black. I was always called an Oreo or a White girl. I listen to all types of music, I like to eat food for all types of cultures and I'm trying to learn Mandarin and Arabic. It's good to know that there other people out there like me. I never understood how you could "act white" or "act black".

Lol =) But I think it just a matter of the sign of the times really. Unlike even 5 years ago, more Asian men are branching out and dating non-Asian women. Thank you for talking about this, I know a guy who tells me I act to asian cause I listen to asian music and watch asian media, and he completely ignores the fact that i also watch American, Indian, Europian and so on. Its fustrating how so many asian guys i know tell me that i'm trying to act asian when I am just trying to be myself. I am happy at least someone may it be someone on youtube is okay with people who listen to music other then American music when not that part of that culture.

i'm a white girl who absolutely loves kpop. and i'll admit i kind of surround myself in asian...things? my family and friends are annoying though.. and when they talk to me about an asian they always classify them as "chinese" so i'm like how do you know they're chinese? and they're like "whatever they have chinky eyes" ughhhhhhhh. they always make fun of me . so i just curse at them in korean LMAO. i'm really proud of who i am and what i'm interested in :)

@samschipano OMG I totally know what you mean about the chinky thing. I don't really surround myself in it, like I don't watch dramas ad stuff but I like the music. What I hate the most is how like my fam are like ooo you like the "ugly asians" i'm like o come on! I think everyone should be into what they are into and not care yuh know? I like the fact that i'm into it, I find the music and mainly the dance moves very cool and interesting.

@sweetp5691 yeah haha. i'll check out a guy of any race too. i find hair really attractive. their hairstyles. there's this white boy in school, and his hair is absolutly amazing. it's thin, shiny and super bouncy. i think i'm in love with him. and no i don't know him. is he japanese? the only jap guy i know is gatcht or howev. it's spelled. that guy is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous that it's ridiculous.

@0hayoung0 I spoke my languages as a child. My parents spoke to me in all three languages. So naturally i picked it up. When I grew older, I had alot of Korean friends... so thus I practiced daily~ and I eventually became fluent :)

안녕하십니까? 저는 다이아몬드입니다. i'm moving to Korea in 3-4 years but i have a problem. my Korean friends said that image is VERY important. I'm worried because the part of the south I'm from still thinks people should "act their color". being black and learning 한국 and 日本語, I'm often ridiculed for not "being black". Everywhere I go i get the stank face and I've been officially kicked out of the black community lol 슬픈. if my own community rejects me, what can I expect when I go to Korea?

I kinda feel like people look at me the same way too cause I like asian music and shows and I'm trying to learn Korean and Japanese, that I'm "trying to be asian". If that's what they think whatever, I can't help what I like, I I love languages too. I don't forget who I am or lose myself in it, I'm just a little different, it's nothing to be ashamed of, and I find that moe and more blacks are getting into asian stuff, it's just a movement nowadays

I would prefer some music from other countries than from America. Not because I'm trying to be something I'm not or anything, but because the music nowadays have no meaning to them(no offense ). I like music that has meaning, soul and a feel to it! like music from the 70's-90's!So it really doesn't make sense to me that we get judged just because we listen to something someon!e else might not have heard of.
