This was released as a single, with Wild Child, in 1972, from Lou Reed's first solo album - Lou Reed. Impossible to confuse it with The Velvets 'cause it doesn't sound like The Velvets at all; it has Yes' Steve Howe (guitar) and Rick Wakeman (piano), and Clem Cattini on guitar. Despite these "great" musicians, it wasn't a very good album (and sold poorly) by Lou Reed's standards (after came Transformer, Berlin, Rock&Roll Animal, etc...) but still great if compared to everything else : )

There is an early version of " I Love You" by the VU, but this is Lou's solo version from his first album, "Lou Reed".
