  • Do anyone know who are the girls @ 0:40 and 1:46 they are the most gorgeous? Proud to be dark skin.

  • you know what I give up. This is not a race this is a fu***** curse. My so called race is much more of an enemy then people. From the fake thugs sellin crack to the house nigger cops. I been fightin niggers

for all types of reasons but the oldest fight is colorism I don't pity my enemies and this is a sh** race. I try to

snap out of it but I hate these people so much and it's not self hate you people are my fu*** enemies just

as bad or even worse then white people f*** niggers

  • Black americans done lost their damn Mind.

  • @Junior1luv right on

  • @Junior1luv I don't know if you've watched the whole video but the guy answers yoru comment at 3:50 and its African American no blk american.

  • Black people grow up! Light or dark skin? You're all Black anyway! You all suffered from slavery and were segregated against into slums. ghettos, etc.... Stop having a complex about light, medium or dark shades. There are greater problems facing the Black community in America than a stupid thing like skin tone. Come on now! Black is Beautiful and Black is Black! I'm proud of my Blackness!!!!

  • 0:42------ is she for real?

  • @TheSKYizFalling with her black ass...lol

  • @TheSKYizFalling She probably meant that they don't think she is African American. Some people associate darker skin with foreigners. It's out of ignorance though, because African Americans are not homogeneous in appearance.

  • "I've seen light-skinned women who were very attractive and dark-skinned women who were just as attractive. So it really boils down to who has the look (that sex appeal) that rattles your cage!"

  • That was very insightful

  • Comment removed

  • To me this is just ignorance , but a the end of the day we have to know who we are as indivudals and i find it hard to hide behind this.. Time to move on some people will never change and thats life..

  • Quit trippin and get over ourselves...Its obvious that this whole issue was "created" by the masters, and the people who would benefit by making themselves the image of perfection...

  • TV programs you to think this way....

  • Thank you for this video. I hope to see more from you concerning this controversial topic :-)

  • Why do you guys have the camera so dark, that you can't even see that one girls features? That's dumb since your doing this on colorism!

  • If you want to be light and you find light skin more attractive than dark why don't you join the white race, what's that you can't because your not white enough!?! THE BLACK race originated from dark skin!!!! How is anyone going to call themselves black and disrespect the dark skin black people in the black race!?! And for anyone that think all dark skin people are ugly are very delusional and very ignorant!!!!

  • I say that same thing and I get busted up for it. and all black women who are dark are kidding themselves if they don't think they have not been affected at least once.

  • @BeautyEmpress dark skin and light skin both are beautiful!!

  • @BeautyEmpress Sorry but that's just a myth about the black race originating from dark skin. The khoisan people have the oldest dna in Africa and they're light skinned Africans.

  • @MsAqualight blacks come in all shades people think every darker skinned black person is african. please

  • @OliCampify duh

  • I was taken from my birth mother as an infant...I got in contact with her in adulthood...The second thing she asked me was, Are you light or dark? I said I was dark, from then on she lost interest : )

  • I am sorry to hear that. I had someone else tell me a similar story that she could tell her darkskinned mother resented her because she reminded her mother how dark she was. Ironically, the darkskinned mother loved her daughter's lightskinned son.

  • that is out of order but it was for the best why would you want a colorstruck person like that in your life anyway

  • Agreed...

  • The guy in the blue T-shirt isn't the lightest person ever & he doesn't 'talk proper'. LOL

But anyway regarding what the man at the end said although whites strted the dark skinned black & light-skinned black divide, come on know it's up to black people to stop passing down the ignorant skin shade stereotypes & 'hair grade' stereotypes.

It's 2009. Not all blacks use bleaching creams, but if you do, then put it back down, it is 2009, not 1930. Only blacks can kill this negativity.

  • How do you NOT know that the second person, the dark skinned black young woman, is black? How? 'What are you?'

Where was she living? What kind of dumb mofos was she surrounded by?

  • She could be Indian, Trini, Ethiopian, etc...

  • Some Trinis are black, Ethiopians are black, and some people from India are very, very dark; they just save the very light skinned green eyed women for their Bollywood movies.

  • "Ethiopians are black"...says who? You? A lot of them don't classify themselves as "black", and who the hell am I to argue with what they call themselves?

Anyway, I don't see the argument here. I stick by my original comment, thanks.

  • Some do classify themselves as black but regardless Africans usually classify themselves by the name of their tribal nation which is their right. But in the western world the Africans who aren't north Africans are black, you don't have to be from only west, central or southern Africa to be considered black.

  • its the europeans

  • u dum ass ethiopeans r black with arab descent moron

  • wtf? it was the white people and the slavery that caused this mess i am mixed race and se it everyday

  • 3:24 that is really fucked up!

  • Bruh, Great work! It's just enought to provoke thought to Us as well as others. This is information that looks to disband stereotypes and other "misconceptions" that have been passed down from one generation to the next. GREAT WORK MAN!!! Keep it up and keep me posted regarding your date of completion...

  • This is great and needs to be seen.

  • looks good man, cannot wait to see the whole thing!!

  • looks really good Joey. I can't wait to see the finished project.

  • Joey, That was great, I'm so proud of you and I hope this lead to bigger and better things. Y.B.M. L.U.

  • Joey,

This was amazing!!! I look forward to seeing more of this film.

  • This subject matter needs to be mainstream consciousness for every cultural community - whites, asian, blacks, hispanic. This presentation provided a fresh take on racism. This is a must see.

  • I really enjoyed watching this. I have heard you mention situations and conversations concerning this topic, but I never knew how deep this issue actually ran. Personally, I would eagerly watch more of this not only because I personally know little about it, but also the controversy of the subject you present needs more than 4:20. I would like to see a broad range of age groups to determine how this issue has affected the culture throughout the last few decades. Good luck on financing,my friend!

  • Hey Joey, I can definitely say that you hit a homerun with this documentary. Being a "light skin" black woman I do feel that I've been stereo typed by my own race. Being called "red and high yellow" by my own people was no fun growing up as a child and it still exist today. It's so sad that we can't see past the colors of our skin. Keep up the good work, awareness can lead to change.

  • Buddy Lee... you've only scratched the surface.. i'd love to see more on this.keep up the great work... inter-racial racism exists & as a people we need to address it so we can move forward as 1 united force to educate the rest of society on what real BEAUTY is!!

    an educated Black Race!!!!

  • I'd love to see more. Best wishes on completing this.

  • This is a hot topic in our community...takes me back to the paper bag test of old. This is a conversation and documentary that needs to be put out there so we can move on from the self hate in our own community based on skin color, hair texture and features. Can't wait to see it!!

    erob...

  • Good job Joey.

We, as a people, need to acknowledge this issue.

It's become "second nature" to too many of us to disrespect our bruthas and sistahs based on complexion, hair texture, dress, and diction (or lack thereof).

Hopefully this feature will initiate conversation or introspection to rise above what we have learned to do to ourselves.

  • This is an unspoken topic that needs to be addressed and recognized for what it is. Black is beautiful, no matter what shade of black you are. Wake up people! Right on with the running time on this one

  • Little acknowledged but big (underground) issue Good range of interview subjects

    would like to see more

  • This is pretty compelling and thought provoking. Its a topic that, as a white male, never crosses my mind would happen within the black race.
