When you get to the fist gate were the robot pops up, I found out that you can just stay behind the gate ( ABOUT HALF THE CARS LENGTH ) and shoot at the robot with the machine gun and the robot doesn't have that far of a range. You don't have to do it, but I like to because I can save missels.

Yo, you know there's a secret passage way. It's in the corner when your time was at 2:46. It takes you down path and then you jump onto the ramp where you turned around to get the armor.
