  • I watch this once a week. Awesome video

  • lol that boat is dirty

  • Thumbs up if you can skin a buck and run a trot line.

  • MR. FLATHEAD

  • if you get perch and shad and cut them up it works good to

  • Nice fish

  • I have tried lamb chops and i caugh a 47 pond blue with it. ive also caught a lot of other with lamb chops.

  • Thank you Guys so much for this vids. I'm not from as far south as Kentucky, but I'm from Southern Iowa and did a lot of Catfishing with my grandfolks as a kid. I'm not afraid to say that I teared up a bit thinking about it. Again, I sure do appreciate the video.

  • chicken heart , liver ,and fish eyes r great !

  • What is the daily limit of fish they allow there? And are trot lines the same rules for daily limits as using fishing poles?

  • Might need a bigger net buddie haha. Nice fish though

  • That Guy is Literally My Freakin Hero!

  • those are some some good catfish

  • where's the guy with the banjo!?

  • What are these catfish like to eat ?......

  • @creamtt hot dogs, shad, chicken liver

  • @creamtt Deeelicious.Skin 'em,slop 'em in some egg & milk, then into flour seasoned with salt and pepper.Add them to some hotter than Hell oil & cook til golden brown.

  • @creamtt Channel Cats and Flatheads are pretty good as long as they're under about 10 pounds. Bigger than that and they get a muddy flavor.

  • @jrloopy1984 4 real

  • i hope he clean his boat

  • God bless them good ol boys!

  • Good deal. It's Lardo of the Moron Brothers. Seems like a interesting man to spend the afternoon with. Love his music too. From a fan here in Nicholasville.

  • i remember a few years ago at martin creek lake in texas we set some of them troutlines out and caught 50lb and up channel cats there were good eatting i'll tell you what good times

  • @ttr125rox Channel cats over 50 lbs? I doubt it. Channel cats barely get over 10 or 20 pounds. U sure they werent blue cats? I dont think those were channels especially since u call it a troutline I dont think thats ur field of expertice no offense

  • @rednecksniper1138 The world record for a channel catfish is 58 pounds.

  • @rednecksniper1138 I caught a channel cat weighing 29 lbs on the Mississippi River above Memphis 3 years ago.The Tn record for channel cats is 39 lbs.If they have an adequate supply of food, like around a grain dock, catfish can get pretty big.

  • I love this video.

  • this is a good vid

  • good video 10out of 10!

  • Lord this brings back many, many fun-filled memories of running trot lines on the Tombigbee River near Jackson, Alabama. My uncle has a camp on the river where we would often spend the entire weekend fishing. It's true, catfish will bite almost anything if given enough time. We once used ivory soap on a drop line and did catch one catfish. The river is heavily used by tugs pushing barges down to Mobile and up north. They use to drag heavy chains to run the bottom and bust the lines. Buggers

  • when we say maybe in ky , it means take ten pounds off lol.

  • yum! finish off a hot plate of fresh fried catfish with some fried cornbread and you got yourself a nice southern feast

  • Comment removed

  • trotlines are bar none the best way to stock up on fresh catfish for a nice southern fish fry

  • when we was cleaning that fish we got the skin of really easy usaly its so hard to get it off..but its worth it

  • i dont take the skin off when i fry em the skin peels right off

  • lol nice

  • Nothing better than some fresh breaded fish with some lemon juice!!

  • hahahahahaha

  • use chicken liver works every time :)

  • ivory soap works the best weve had lines of 100 hooks and 3/4's of the hooks were full of cat.

  • ivory soap? you cant be serious.

  • to timwins31 - yes many use ivory soap but you have to melt it down and do a few other things to it first. if you like you can try it in a net/bag/stocking first. there are many things catfish will eat

  • @timwins31

Ivory soap is okay, But look for the Mexican Pink soap or " Zote Soap ", you can usually find it at Walmart near the laundy detergents.

It has a large animal fat content and puts a "smoke" of scent off once in the water and the catfish really like it.

  • @Buglemintoday- yea thats what we use wen we trot line in the flint river in ga. we cut it in about 1 in cubes and today we got a 5 3/4 pound channel cat and he wuz 29'' long. thats pretty rare in the fint.

  • @Buglemintoday When I was a kid in the late 50's, my dad & I used P&G (proctor & gamble?) soap which was the right consistency for cutting into little 1" squares and the catfish loved it. Stay out all night by the river, run the lines, come back to truck, eat scrambled egg samiches, take an hour nap, go run them again.

  • @timwins31 sounds crazy but it works

  • trot lining is really fun

  • we put three out at amistad resivoir and we caught 18 cats over night

  • The only way I know how to fish. I only use a rod if i'm catching perch to use as bait. Looks like a good river

  • How about using a light weight rod

  • now thats fishing...man all he needs is flour, oil, a pan, a stove, salt and pepper, and ketchup, maybe garlic powder or salt...

  • nice .. looks like theres alot of catfsh in that riv.

  • sombody needs a FILLET knife!

  • lol fillet knifes are for dem city folks!

  • Great video!!!

    What river is this on?

  • Kentucky...

  • I live in KY and used to set trotlines as a kid every year on vacation. It's a lot of work checking your lines at sunrise and dusk, but you'll have more than enough catfish and turtle to eat.

I cracked up at that one comment.

"I think they taste better than chicken. I could eat 'em with one foot in the far (fire)!"

    LMAO

  • I disagree that it's a lazy way to fish, it takes a lot of work to make and run trotlines. Yeehaw.

  • dis is such happy ness livin in such squaler dat no millonair can buy.

  • I WANT YOUR BEARD!!!

  • I wanna set o plans for that shanty boat. what keeps her afloat?

  • I'm fairly certain that on the full episode, which aired on T.V., he said it was a boat dock and he just built the room on it and strapped a motor to it.

  • me too

  • i never ran a trot line.. i should try it soon

  • trotlining is the way to go!

  • This is really cool!!! We have fishing shows

here in the Islands, but nothing like this.

Is that "Lardo" of the Moron Brothers?! Love these guys...

  • yes

  • That's cool, living off the river.

Was that Lardo of the Moron Brothers?!

  • biggest ever caught on my trot line in ohio 37in 42lb channel cat

  • That is a world record channel! Where in Ohio

  • We do something similar to that in New Zealand called kontiki fishing.

  • southern comfort right ther

  • my kinda people
