  • Absolutely awesome. I only heard one song that I didn't know. I believe it was the one before the last.

  • Too many handsome men at once on the stage!!!

  • honestlly i have never heard about a whole nation that sing, live and pray for peace like israel!!

  • Many of the members are Jewish while others are not. Mikhail Turetsky for example is Jewish. The group demonstrates diversity and sings these song beautifully what complaints should I have. If they sucked then I would have a few things to say but as far as I'm concerned they have wonderful voices.

  • Just listen to the music. It is beautiful in every way. They sing with their hearts and thats all that matters. Plus they have amazing voices and they can interchange russian and hebrew quite well and smoothly.

  • This is a Russian Jewish Group - the "Choir of Michael Turetsky". In 1993 the American Music Art Association awarded Michael Turetsky with the "Golden Crown" order as the best cantor. The Russian Jewish Congress -

RJC-SPONSORED PROJECTS: MOSCOW JEWISH CHAMBER CHOIR

The Russian Jewish Congress' support for this performing group is part of a program to revive cantorial and choral music of the synagogue in Russia .

    See Wikipedia on Choir_of_Michael_Turetsky

  • @fredaMye Now

"TURETSKY CHOIR ART GROUP" is one of the most popular and equally unconventional group on the Russian musical scene.

The basis of the unique concept is a voice. The artists – all of them have got higher music education – sing live in 10 languages, with a-capella orchestra substituting musical instruments by live voices.

  • @fredaMye See Wikipedia on Turetsky_Choir_Art_Group

  • @choirclub JUST BEAUTIFUL!!! BROVO - ISRAEL LOVES YOU TOO

  • I am an American of Italian descent and a Presbyterian. But I'm also a composer who wrote a Jewish Service which was performed in Moscow (the first Jewish music performed in Tchaikovsky Hall since the end of Communist rule). If it's done with love, it's all good!

  • Great performance!

More and more Christians, like Glenn Beck (USA), are helping Israel to survive, so themselves will survive Islamic conquests, bullying and terrorism in the Western world.

    Times have changed!!

  • The time is coming, mark my words, when we will ALL live in harmony, respect and fellowship. Because, if not, we will all be playing harps on cloud nine somewhere, waiting for another re-incarnation, to make another attempt at peace and harmony. First we are to learn the lessons of greed, control, ego, and everything else that limits our full expression of Universal, Unconditional Love.

  • They are not Jews and missionaries. They are wonderful musicians and singers who sing to the people isolated the entire world wants to destroy.

  • ! Super

  • A great performance i like it. they got here only 3 persons that really Jewish, the rest of them Christians that learn the Hebrew from the lyrics.

and for literaryagency channel I'll say hey idiot get your brain out of your Ania's.

  • An Israeli group? One performer has a cross.

    Is this a Russian group?

or is it a missionary group?

Missionaries have been working overtime among Russian Jews. They will host concerts with Hebrew religious & Zionist/Israeli songs with Israeli flags fluttering all around.

No. I won't have a mental orgasm over some missionary singing my songs. A wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf.

  • @altalana Turetsky Choir is the russian art-group.

    arthor.ru/eng/

  • @altalana

What difference is there if this group is all Jewish....all Christtians....or all missionaries trying to convert

folk to their religious beliefts? They are bring the joy of Jewish and Israeli and Hebrew melodies to those who may not have ever heard this before....in a beautiful and dignified fashion. How much better is it to reach out to the gerneral population to show the beauty of our songs than to remain a people viewed only with mistrust by others. Be a lighr to the world!

  • @altalana

there is no missionary Jews !!!! Jews are against it !! if you want to be Jew you have to work hard to convert !! not like other religions !! don't represent stories as facts, if you don't know !!!

    ofir

    from Israel

  • @altalana : So what if he had a cross? Does this remove his standing with GOD? Remember, hard times are coming up for us...and guess who's going to hide us once again? The "Cross" people like during the Holocaust. Think this over....and put a cross on your lips to keep it SHUT.

  • Thank You & Bless your work

  • what an amazing concert by messianic jews!! LOVE IT!!

  • This is beautiful. Great singers!! Amazing energy!

  • This is Whack! Awesome!!

  • Absolutely wonderful! Russia has come a long way from the 1980's when this would not be allowed and the Russian Jews were called refuseniks and had terrible time leaving Russia. Awe inspiring video!

  • Too Bad the Russian Government does not care about Israel and sell arms and Nuclear technology to Iran and Syria that want to destroy Israel its people and music.

  • Magnifique!!!!! Shalom Al ISRAEL

  • Love it!

  • zwolf97 is correct. choirclub is also correct. How can they both be correct? You are correct also.

  • phony and even cynical...

The only connection many of the Soviet, so-called Jews who came to Israel over the last two decades have to Judaism is that one or more of their grandfathers murdered Jews beside the death pits of the Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and elsewhere under Soviet control.

Jews with crucifixes, sorry? I don't buy it

  • @literaryagency Let teach you something so you can pull your brain out of your ass, this group got now only 3 Jewish people in them, and the owner that he's a Jewish, all the rest are Christians. They learn the Hebrew from the lyrics like any other singer, when sing in different language. Now what the stupid remarks you make about their grandfathers being a murders, where you got this one from? Go get a life.

  • Good on you! ISRAEL WILL LIVE FOREVER!

  • Very nice

  • wowowow

  • thank you do much

its so nice to see this in a such a hard time for israel

    big love

    ori from israel

  • AMAAAAAAZING! FRANTAAAASTIC!!!!

  • I loved it! I have to thank my girlfriend Irene for sending it to me, it was wonderful!

  • Yes, it matters if they are wearing a cross and singing Hebrew songs. Unless all Judaism is in a museum it matters that Jews are presenting Jewish music. Do you know how many Soviet-linked Jews converted and wear crosses? Also, their Hebrew is highly Russian-tinged. Many many Jews became Russian Orthodox. It matters to see a Jewish face wearing a cross on the neck.

  • I think it is especially wonderful that they are NOT Jewish and pronouncing the words correctly AND singing about peace! YAY!

  • @pdfender27 actually they are NOT pronouncing the Hebrew properly.

  • @pdfender27 YES they are Jewish

  • @mucika1818 .What difference does it make? They were very professional and, as a layman, I would say their Hebrew was faultless. Remember the "Red Army Chorus"? They sung "annie laurie" with perfect Scottish accents.

  • @pdfender27 You're wrong, they don't pronounce all the words correctly. Non-Jews have no business singing Jewish songs. There are plenty of non-Jewish songs for them to sing -let them stick to that.

  • beautiful

    bravo

FUCKING RESPECT and use ur brains be4 u say shit.

  • Amen

  • It used to be more jewish band. Turetksiy used to have more jewish singers in his band, but some stayed in USA and never came back. He has may be 1 or 2 jewish singers and the rest are Russians or Ukrainians. That is fine. They sing in many languages by learning the lyrics and not the language.

  • great!!!oneness at last!!!!

  • Check out the guy at 2:20 : "What in the world is going on here?" lol

  • GREAT VIDEO!

    Who cares if they are Jewish or not;

singing for peace & mashiach can only be good news!

  • HAHAHA I'M FROM ISRAEL AND JEWISH' AND I DON'T THINK THEY R.. SO Y R THEY SINGING IN HEBREW? NOT THAT I CARE, IT'S TOTALLY COOL !!!!!

I'M JEWISH, AND I DON'T THINK THEY R... Y R THEY SINGING IN HEBREW? NOT THAT I CARE, THIS IS COOL!!

    Cantor Michael Smolash

  • I love it. I don't care if they are Jewish or not. Wouldn't it be wonderful if religion was only used by people to learn how to do the right thing and being more civilized, instead of for political purposes and to exclude others? I hope for the day all Jews, Christians, Muslims, etc. respect each other and their traditions and participate in each other's celebrations.

  • @1ptcmax That will NEVER happen with Islam. NEVER.

  • @janiegiroux becuz the islam , unlike the judasim, talks about killing and violence, when the jews talk about peace, "shalom"..

  • @1ptcmax You are so right. I wish there would be no anti-semitism.

  • @1ptcmax Never going to happen, unless you're a jew, then you're all for the slaughter or slave pen Hahaha.

"Gentiles, Ha, you have to admire them sometimes because they're so,, impressionable"

  • Why not just enjoy the performance without making a fuss about who they are, etc? I found myself singing along and having fun!

  • If they do not speak Hebrew, then I am thoroughly impressed. I definitely wouldn't been able to sing this well in a language I was unfamiliar with.

  • Welcome to the club :) good VIP lechaim.

    Amen

  • 1:45 The writing on the big screen is backwards :D

  • The title "Хор Турецкого - Кошерное попурри", means "Turetsky Choir - Kosher Medley".

  • 2:42 the guy is wearing a cross he's definately not jewish

  • @zwolf97 Does it really matter - who is a Jew who is not?

    Listen to music.

  • @choirclub well said

  • @choirclub It is a sharks tooth look close

  • @choirclub your right!!!!

  • No my dear, as a jew I can say without hesitation that there is no difference between Jews and non Jews. People are people faith has got nothing to do with it nor does religion. But with hate its harder to work right? LOL

  • @zwolf97 The guy may not be Jewish, but what he is wearing is not a cross. It is a Hebrew letter "Chai", which is associated with the word "life".

  • @zwolf97 Who cares? These guys are first rate, and they sing in many languages-- including English. Do you have a problem with them in singing in English even though they are not American? By the way, as a Jew, I am delighted and grateful to G-d that in this generation, "our" music gets the respect and has broad enough appeal for this group to do a Medley of it. Sure beats a pogrom!

  • @jaymagic54 They are very vulgar, very westernized, very sexualized, nisht kein yidishe tam, proste goyim. Russians need some 40 yrs to catch up with Judaism and Jewish culture, then they will be able to put together a Fiddler on the Roof or a Lippa Shmelzer.

  • @zwolf97 : I don't think that white/silvery pendant is a cross and even if it were, I agree with the "who cares?" school of thought.

I did not notice any significant mispronunciations, just a nice Russian accent.

It must have been a terrific concert.

  • @zwolf97 You can see the same necklace more clearly at :31. It is not a cross.

  • @zwolf97 I think he is wearing a shark tooth.

  • @zwolf97 that was a sharks tooth

    and it doesn't matter

im jewish and i sing gospel songs in my chorus.

  • It's really amusing to see people compalining about pronunciation of Hebrew ~ the favourite discussion topics amongst Jewish people!!!

  • Fantastic

  • jajajajajajaajaajajajajajajaajjaajja

  • Michail Turetsky, the founder, who also sings on stage, is Jewish. He's trained in opera as are other members of the group. While not all members are now Jewish, the original members were all Jewish & started out as a synagogue choir in Moscow.

  • While its great and well done, I'm not so sure they know all of what theyre saying, cuz theres definitely some mispronunciations of words by the entire group, and it doesnt just sound like an accent thing. then again, it doesnt look like a religious group, so its possible they don't know what it means but they know its jewish

  • these negative commenters should really do a quick wikipedia search before talking... this is a jewish choral group. I'm pretty sure they know exactly what they are saying.

  • @RICbass78 or go to english version of official site.

  • @choirclub... I don't see anything on their website about being a jewish group. Judging from their mispronunciation of several words, i'm betting they're not Jewish at all. But they've done an excellent job with these songs. Interesting to see how times have changed in 50 years!

  • @estherbeads Mikhail Turetsky had created the Moscow Choral Synagogue's Male Choir at 1989.

Later this Choir became an art-group Turetsky Choir.

  • @choirclub Where is that?

  • @DrBakshandeh This is the anniversary concert of Turetsky Choir "20 years: 10 voices" in State Kremlin Palace in Kremlin State Palace (Moscow)

  • @choirclub I meant the website.

  • @DrBakshandeh Whose?

    Website of Turetsky Choir: arthor.ru

Website of State Kremlin Palace: .gkd-kremlin.ru

  • @RICbass78

I was in a group that played reworked Liturgy tunes, some wedding favorites, and some attempts at Klezmer. We had a couple of non-Jewish members, but they loved the music anyway.

  • THIS IS WONDERFUL - MANY THANKS FOR SHARING THIS. WE JUST ADORE THE MUSIC AND VIVACITY THAT GOES WITH IT. LOVELY, FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE TOO.

  • I loved it

    enormously

  • In my opinion, a lot of cultures are fascinated by the Jewish music and culture.

  • BRAVO! WHAT A SHOW!

  • Ok, I'm kind of confused here. Was this a jewish crowd or were they just paying tribute to the jewish people.

  • TO STALIN------AM YISRAEL HAI.

  • FABULOUS. The music is ExcitIng. Beautifully performed.

  • Dibuk´s Wedding?

  • @allon23 that's the best laugh I've had in a while! Perfect comment!

  • God Bless, Never forget where you come from and love where you now are. Am Yisrael Hai.

  • Wonderful...They put their whole heart into it! Love it!

  • Phenomenal. Wonderful PR.

  • love it

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH, I LOVE LOVE.

  • Formidable

  • Its sad they don't even inderstand the words they are singing.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • Awful, plain awful.

  • very very good!!! its beautiful!!!

  • Music is a wonderful and beautiful body language, it brings people together whether you are Jewish, Russian Jews or non Jews.....Great music, talented musicians and singers. Fantastic performance. Thank you.

  • The Russians are Israels natural allies

  • I love it FABULOUS!!

  • Do the audience even understand what is being sung?

  • @vermontrabbi ... notice how many were singing along... maybe a few knew the words!

  • Now if you want to hear/see a version which is really outstanding, look for Oseh Shalom by the Shabbaton Choir and featuring the Chief Rabbi of the UK!!!!

  • Only 9 Anti-Semites... Not bad =p

  • Jewish culture is "exotic." However, Russians -- by and large -- do not *like* Jews.

  • @voiceanddiction not true, there are many jews who are russian, i have been to many russian jewish bar/bat mitzvah's and weddings.
