"Enter Sandman" is one of the most overrated traditions in college football after experiencing it firsthand at a VT night game. I was expecting to be blown away, and instead was majorly disappointed. I can see how Lane has the potential to get pretty loud though; I'll give them that much.
Not only is Clemson's entrance better, but so is our exit. 23-3.

I was in the North Endzone (student section) during that game. The game was in such high demand that people were literally jumping the fence to get in. The first and only time I've ever seen the North Endzone filled to probably 150% of capacity. During the game you could feel the intense hatred of Miami in the air--and hatred is the only way of describing it. I'd say the fans--myself included--literally wanted to beat a Miami player with an aluminum bat. Once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Been to games at Lane during the day and at night as an opponent (member of the GT Band) - this entrance is merely OK during the day. Good, but not spectacular - not even close to the best (IMO Clemson).
At night, especially Thursday games, it gets 100x better, and I think is the best.

I don't understand playing the fight song as soon as they come out when you have 60k+ people jumping in near unison to a song that gets you hype. The fight song is such a buzzkill after that. If they just left it playing this would be the clear favorite for best sports intro. Play the fight song as they go out for the kickoff if it must be played.

Been to games at Lane during the day and at night as an opponent (member of the GT Band) - this entrance is merely OK during the day. Good, but not spectacular - not even close to the best (IMO Clemson).
At night, especially Thursday games, it gets 100x better, and I think is the best.

@ttul8r1 untill you go to a game you have no clue. i am a season ticket holder. when nebraska came to Tech they told all of us this was the best entrance in the country. I have been to a UNC-Va tech game, NCstate-Vatech game, Duke-Vatech game and Wake-Vatech game. you have to been out of your mind to say any Carolina school does it better

Wow, I'm a Penn State fan, but that by far the best entrance I've ever seen, especially the dude coming out with the stars and stripes. Only thing that could have made it better was seeing obama getting his butt whipped in the middle of the field.

@tommylehman TOTALLY agree. In fact I just searched through 5 of these entrance vids to find this specific one bc of the extended enter sandman. I don't understand playing the fight song as soon as they come out when you have 60k+ people jumping in near unison to a song that gets you hype. The fight song is such a buzzkill after that. If they just left it playing this would be the clear favorite for best sports intro. Play the fight song as they go out for the kickoff if it must be played.
