  • 4 people's sidestands broke upon kickstart

  • what people fail to grasp is that he owns a Vincent black shadow he can start it any way he wants.

    fucking gorgeous

  • Nine comments about not starting it on the side stand. I have been starting mine on the side stand every day for 32 years, when should I start worrying about not doing it?

  • Cool video. Never heard of Vincent.

  • How could anyone Not Like Vincents??? Are they insane?

  • holy shit - if he ever tried that on my 1972 Norton Commando, he'd get catapulted over the trees! If your legs aren't long enough to reach the ground so you can start it properly, you shouldn;t be riding the damned thing. Oy frickin ve!

  • @HaggisPowah Amen Brother, and well said.........Vincent's are beautiful as are all British bikes but the guy starting this is not putting his ALL into this. The Norton 850 Commando is a man's bike. Crikey......grandmothers ride Harley's!!

  • I used to do that. The way to get off quick back in the day was to keep it parked on the side stand, jump on it and kick it, and take off while kicking up the side stand. But after a while, the sidestand begins to fatique. Luckily, they are usally soft enought to warn you. I don't do it at all on the bikes I have now.

  • Thank You for a lovely video. What A Great MotorCycle !

  • nice bike but it smokes the hell out there..

  • For more on kick starting, check out the episode of Top Gear where diminunitive little Richard Hammond attempts to kick a Black Shadow in the guts.

  • Japanese Moon-shot.

(or it will be the first time it kicks back..........)

  • Man, one of the first things I learned about Brit Bikes is NO STARTING ON THE SIDE STAND. That's asking for an expensive problem.

  • check out t140v 1978 kent plums' sidestand kickstart debate...depends who's doing it...

  • Hate to be the one to say it but when kick starting it You should not have the bike on the Kick Stand!

  • The kickstart pedal to crank ratio is much different,,from other bikes, and even with a CLEVER hand on the compression release,it can be a bear to start,Its idiling a bit strong on 1 cyl,But,,I give it a strong thumbs up,A lot of money has gone into making that beast tame AND quiet, you have no idea of how many things are in that motor that can make DIFFERENT noisesThank you Phil Vincent,,and Freda [mate] for giving us all so much happiness for so long,Cheers,Ben,/Don't forget this is 1946 design

  • Ya sure it may use a lil oil,,,Hes got the clearenc on the timing gears ok,,,and lotsa other stuff,,Now lets see a real feat of ? ,,, Rock the beast off the rear stand,,Throw your hip into left side of seat,,brace rt foot on pave' reach out back and grasp rear stand,,and secure by T bolt,,All this AFTER starting,,hohoho,,Now catch that 7,2 bottom gear and dont rev or stall,,,take it to 55,,shift,,80,,shift,,,110,,shift again,,toes down or theyll be blown off footpegs,,is exhale difficult,?,Ben

  • Great bike ,Thanks for sharing .

  • Please god no! That bike was about to take a dive on that kick start.

  • starting that bike on the kick stand just doesn't seem right

  • naucz sie paparuchu maszyne obsługiwać.

  • learn to kick your bike man!!!!

  • OMG if that sidestand breaks and you've got mega damage. Nice ride though,

  • Bet his sidestand doesnt last long

  • Sorry, but this driver ist totaly "dement". How is possible starting bike like Vincent from stand?? If aou do not know starting bike buy scooter!

  • It may be an oil burner, but it is still the group chassis design all modern motorcycle manufacturers wish they could better. Inspired stuff.

  • someone bought the name to vincent. they're taking a legendary name and making a crotch rocket company out of it.

why not at least make an original spec reproduction model? There's plenty of demand, that's for sure. if there isn't any, why is royal enfield still around, advertising "untouched by time"?

  • Amazing bike

  • It's an oil-burner

  • amazing
