@kingkonggarden Add to that the fact that the Moment has terrible battery life, problems with data lock up, and no multi-touch support you can see why I'm picking up a cheap HTC Hero off ebay. You would be lucky if your Moment would last a day on a single charge even with little to no use. The Moment uses an overclocked processor it's default clocks I believe are 667 MHz so clocking it to 800 MHz kills it's battery life. Your data stops working if you use wifi for a while and needs a restart.

@kingkonggarden The Moment isn't able to receive Android 2.2. In fact the Hero has custom 2.2 Roms and the Moment doesn't even have one yet. The Moment also is laggier than the Hero due to the lack of graphics acceleration. The hardware may be better in the Moment but there is no reason to have better hardware if there are no drivers for it. I have the Moment and I've been waiting 6 months for a developer to write a hardware driver that is barely half done. The Moment is worse than the Hero.

Have been looking to upgrade and I know this phone is older now compared to Epic 4g and Evo, but they just seem to big and have the extra $10 month to pay. This doesn't have a slideout keyboard, which I'm used to, but wanted android phone with touch screen and pinch an zoom, do you recommend this one?

It looks like most of the email and messaging functions are connected only to gmail. If I use yahoo mail, is that going to work with allthe features you talked about? And when you receive a message is there a way to notify with a larger icon or something?

I like HTC prducts and wanted one operatin Android, bleh totally ditest Windows Mobile. I was thinkin bout the EVO but, It ain't all that serious, especially not at AN EXTRA $10 for 4G usage. The test messaging on this phone sucks.... by this I mean I'll receive text messages 5-10 minutes later and sometimes only when I unlock the screen and actually click on the text message conversation itself will it show newly received messages

Other than that the phone is great

@katv09, I rooted my phone and push email does work. I don't really know if it used to work back before I rooted it though. I'm running a leaked version of Verizons 2.1 right now. The only thing bad about it is that they filter apps in the AppStore. :-(

Just Got Mine Yesturday! I love it. Love the Droid Software that it runs on. Previously had the HTC Touch Pro and Did NOT Like the Windows based software. Love the New Droid Based Hero. Great Phone.

yes it does. it automatically runs stuff in the background. only drawback is if you want to completely shut down an application, you need to download task killer, but its free so its not a big deal.

The Hero will be awesome. It does have landscape keyboard if you turn it tothe side. The keyboard is much like the iphone's keyboard. I am torn between this phone and the Palm Pre. I have til January to decide though.

Thanks for the reply. That is lame, I wonder what the Donut voice recognition software will bring when they update it. From the intro video, it looks like it goes right to the call from the voice command.
