Tim Thomas set a playoff record for most saves, and for least goals in the Stanley Cup Finals, with only 8 goals total. Plus, he won game 7 of the ECF and the SCF with shutouts, and won the Conn Smythe as the MVP of the playoffs. Roberto Luongo was porous when the Canucks needed him, while Tim Thomas was a brick wall.

I can't friggin stand Alberts. Almost all of his hits on youtube resulted in penalties- many major boarding penalties for hitting from behind. Dirty, stupid player and he is slow as hell. If he could stay out of the box, I'd be ok with him, but he is brutal.

I live close to GM Place just to give you a perspective of how 'in Vancouver' I live, I am a true die hard fan. I think Alberts is no better than a PYLON out there but lets be real, that hit doesn't render a suspension..especially not after the Sutton/Leopold hit last night. My own comment, these commentators calling it on the S-MO say he left his feet...he did not.

Its just a normal boarding penalty, a little cheap shot for not easing on the hit but that's hockey. Probably 2 - 5 minutes of penalty but i dont see how hes gona be suspended unless they suspend every player who does boarding. Brad Richardson shouldn't be facing the boards like that lol.

For me, this is a 4 minute penalty tops. Trying to decide what Alberts "intended" to do is nuts. What are you, a shrink? Richardson, like all these clever players do, turned his body to draw the penalty. Alberts folly was in leaving his feet. If he hadn't done that, that's a clean hit.

Alberts needed a shot in the mouth for that hit, not a suspension. If Richardson is unable to return tot he game, I think they should give Alberts a suspension.

It was a weak shot, Richardson (5=11 195) gives up quite a bit of size on Alberts (6'-5" 218) and Alberts still left his feet! As if that wasn't beer league hockey enough, he gets the elbow up. If I'm playing in LA I'm in calling up some fifth line bomber to crush this D-bag on his first shift!

He left his feet, a bad hit from AA, good call by refs on this one. I am glad Canucks only surrender 1 goal on this penalty.

But on other plays, refs at least missed 2-3 high stick penalties from Kings players. That was bad.

Canucks fan here who isnt dumb (obviuosly the dumb ones are on CDC at the moment) good calls by the ref on this one. i think Richards turned his nody and the "hit from behind" portion of the hit was unavoidable (i think richards didnt see albers coming) but the "leaving the feet" definatly alberts fault. i hope he isnt gone form the team for many games, if any
