bands like Guns N' Roses and Paramore tune to such odd tunings so they can play more versatile/sound heavier, but mainly so they can play in a certain key so the singer can reach notes easier and stuff. hope that helps.

what's the point of making things easy? i prefer standard tuning due to two facts, it's easier to hit scale runs going up the strings while using the sixth string and it just feels more right to do a power chord in standard.

Yeah the tapping to Sequioa's Throne sounds sick but it's pretty easy.

The entire album is pretty much a 40 minute solo in terms of guitar, every song is difficult.
